Since I was never before onsite for in-between weekend, I don't know how to compare. This weekend, we had a folks in the main campgrounds, the new main campground slots that were the old overflow parking area, and the new quiet family campgrounds.

Friday's bonfire was well attended, but Saturday's was far better.

Only a few minor problems: Idiot trying to jump the bonfire Saturday evening- we gave him a severe tongue thrashing. Dumpster fire Sunday morning - hey, that's why I have (had) two fire extinguishers on my golf cart. Hard to imagine that someone would dump their firepit into a dumpsters with hot coals. Trash all over area 8. This has been a repeated problem in this area, possibly with the same teenage group. Guess time to take photos and post them for public scorn.

Mike,
I know that Opening weekend, we were in area 8 (I'm pretty sure), our group (we are only there opening) camps at G20 on the old grid, right next to the Motleigh, who is G21/22 (right up to that side road) on whatever weekends they are there. The group right beside us on the other side I think left their area picked up, and I know we and the Motleigh clean up behind ourselves, but I did notice that several groups behind us left bagged trash and possibly broken chairs. You might try talking to the Motleigh, they might be willing to help encourage the offenders to quit being jerks...

We are just getting home from camping since Thursday. Man did you look busy Mike! Waved at you a few times but didn't get to say hi!

Thursday night I noticed WAY more noise than I am used to. We figured it was the lack of trees and will get better once they start growing. Just different, not bad.

Friday we had a great day hanging out while the rest of our clan was on their way. Played some games, met some people. Got a sunburn lol Had two younger campers (24 & 21) set up behind us at the tree line and we took them to bonfire. We left them there as we just did not feel the bonfire. When they came back to our camp about hour & a half or so later they had a little story to tell. They went by a large camp and asked a man about their flags. The man said he was Valhalla and asked them if they had drugs! When they said no but we have some beer, he answered well hell I have that! This is from a new camper and a second year camper who does not know clan names. I told them I have NEVER heard anything like this from this clan and would let you know what happened. I am thinking someone might be using the name? They were very shook up and spent rest of the night with our clan.
Liked how at midnight I did not hear any more music. Did not like how it seemed to get turned up suddenly at 11:30. Then I found out they where across the campgrounds from us. Seemed like soon as cops got there it was shut down.

Saturday the rest of our group finally showed up. It seemed everyone was a little rowdy. We had one guy come say hey who had set up beside us and when I asked him how was his time in faire he straight up told me he only camps every weekend and saves his ticket and only goes in last day. Said he just hangs around camp all day. Said he does this every year. I could not believe he was so open about it!
We did have a few around us try to play music (loudly) after midnight and I would just loudly state what time is it, and some one would answer and they shut it down no prob, nicer way than dealing directly. This was not done rude, just as if I was asking over the music.
We had campers behind us that decided since they had their rave music shut down last weekend they would "follow the rules" and shout all night and play drums nonstop. When I say all night, they started about midnight and stopped at 8 am! When they would start screaming wake the F up ( about every 30 min) and someone would say go to sleep they would go off on a tangent about family camping and they were in the rules ect....No one in our camp got any sleep. Can't control everyone and they didn't break any rules but kinda being rude to everyone because they are mad.

We packed up this morning before going into faire...

Overall even with all of this, it was closer to the camping I knew than it has been in a few years. I am hoping the few problems we have get worked out, I know people are upset they are not having the camping they did last year, just like we got upset.
We look forward to the future of the campgrounds! Looks like you guys are going in the right direction but there are still bumps in the long road ahead!
See you Celtic Christmas!

We were camped across the road from that fire Mike. I was with a bunch of folks who usually don't camp so they were confused why a pirate was putting out a fire...and then stealing a cop's golf cart lol. I had to explain to them who but it was quite amusing.

I'm not sure if it's anything but Sunday morning there were some teens just constantly driving around the campgrounds. I don't know if they were looking for unattended items to take but they spent a good three hours driving the same route over and over it seemed.
On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

My husband and I camped in the general area, in the cluster of trees (area 21, I believe).  We were new to both the campgrounds and TRF.  I thought that the campgrounds were great.  For the most part, we were around a lot of nice people.  There was one rowdy group that would not have been so bad, except for one total douche who would not stop screaming obscenities no matter what the hour of the day or night.  We never did make it to the bonfire; we were completely and utterly exhausted.  The quickie marts were nice, and the porta-potties were always clean when I entered them (though I did bring my own camp potty to use late night.  Potable water was nice as well.  Come Sunday night, most of the people around us were gone.  Monday morning brought MANY vultures to the camp, to my utter delight and amazement!  I have never seen anything like it.  Simple pleasures, I know.  We are looking forward to returning soon!

I wasn't out third weekend, but I can say the campgrounds have seen some SERIOUS improvements, not only in amenities but in security as well. Its still going to be rough-n-tumble compared to a KOA, but that's part of the fun of it. When the ravers got out of hand- being too loud or blasting music too late- they were promptly shut down. The port-a-johns no longer looked like plastic portals to some Lovecraftian dimension of eldritch fecal horror, and there seemed to be more of them this year. We camp on the complete opposite end from the entrance and the flushies, so I didn't get a chance to see those, but I have heard they were quite nice. Now, bring forth the showers!
