I got the voucher deal a while back.. Just wondering how this has been working out with camping - are the guards giving people problems for having vouchers and not tickets?

Also, which window do i need to go do to redeem them?  Still a little bothered that i cant print them out like last year...but o well.

And anybody camped and used the handicap parking in camping?  Just wondering how well it fares since we cant drive over into the normal parking handicap areas from what i heard.

Thanks

I'm afraid I can not help you regarding the vouchers.  However the campground handicapped parking is terrible.  If you are the first one there and get in the best spot, it is still about 100 yards (uphill) to the gate.
What I did for opening is to leave the campground, drive to general parking and down to the handicapped row.  Then I was able to get to the first row about 5 feet from the main path to the gate.

I expressed my feelings about this parking situation to Terre while he kindly waited with me for the ambulance opening weekend.
And I am feeling much better now....

I have seen no problems with the camping vouchers.  The keepers of the campgrounds gate have been quite civil and helpful.  However... ... ... be cautious when they scan your receipt to give them ONLY the camp pass one.  They misunderstood our situation the other night, and scanned one of our front gate e-tickets by mistake.  The scanner doesn't care if it is at the campgrounds entrance, or the front gate, it renders that ticket number null and void after that.  Fortunately, our friendly neighborhood Beefeater understood the situation and we were on our way into the park immediately.  It is a good thing there is a date on those receipts!  Word was to be passed to the campground personnel of what happened.

New processes have kinks, but TRF has good customer service to compensate for them.  I'm not sure if they can 'unscan' at the gate if a mistake like that occurs again, it will probably take a trip to will call to fix it.

so you are saying to not let them scan my voucher?  That's all i have.

If he wants to trade the vouchers out for tickets... thats fine with me lol.

I was assuming i just paid for camping at the entrance like in the past.. can you get a camping ticket now online or something too?

edit

ok so they do have camping passes... but damn... convenience fee of 2 bucks?  ill pay at the gate lol.

also, do i have to go to will call or the regular ticket booths for the voucher exchange?

Will Call has a specific line for online vouchers. Fastest I've ever gotten tickets.

I agree about the handicapped parking.  You should probably drive out of the campground and park in the general handicapped parking.  The parking is in a great spot for general patrons, but if you have physical issues, it feels like it's REALLY far away (uphill).

No... just be careful about only scanning the camp pass voucher.  We usually pay in cash, and don't care for the service fee.  If we have to stop at the gate anyway to get tagged... why not?

No... our good Beefeaters have scanners at the gates for the e-tickets, and they know how to use them!  If you are doing any other transaction than just today's ticket to get in, Will Call is probably the way to go.

If you have a Living Social, Houston Voice, Groupon or other Social Media type voucher there is a special Will Call window just for them and it fast. You then get tickets with the Social Media name on it and if you get something extra like the popcorn or Dipin Dots you get a coupon for them at certain booths. Though the walk around popcorn guys will take the popcorn one. No problem showing the voucher at the camp gate. I had Living Social ones.
Don't forget to smell the roses, but watch out for the thorns!
