Question about how to "wear" wings

I've found a lot of good tutorials about making cellophane wings, but most of the tutorials I've found skip over the part of how to attach them to your body.  I know I don't want to do backpack style straps.  From what I can tell, a lot of people use a "U" shape wire attachment that is stuck down the top of the bodice.  I plan on wearing my wings with a very high collar bodice.  Any ideas on how I can "wear" the wings?  Can I some how put the "U" shape attachment up from the bottom of my bodice, which will only come about mid-way down my back?

Also, is it really just the cellophane from packaging wrap?

Thanks for your help!

Can you add some sort of a pocket on the back of your bodice to slide the wings base down into?
And yes, I just buy the rolls of package wrap cellophane.

The pocket idea is something I'll have to think about.  I was planning on using the bodice with and without wings, so I would have to make it so it doesn't look odd without the wings.

Maybe you could try having a U that sticks down the back of the bodice, but then bends down to hold the wings where you want them to sit?  Kinda like those coat hook things that sit over the top of a door.  I don't know if that would work with your collar or not.

Oooh...I just had another thought as well.  If you wanted to have the U come up from the bottom of the bodice, maybe add a velcro loop on the inside to put around the wire so it won't slide out?

perhaps a buttonhole type slit along the seam where the collar attaches to the bodice to slip the u into.

Speaking from experience, I have found that having a specially sized pocket down inside your bodice, or garment of choice really helps in keeping your wings on straight as well as steady whilst one walks.  :)
