Undergarment set

I  found  this  undergarment set at  historic  enterprises.  It has  just about  everything I  want,  and at a  price  that seems  reasonable  to me.  Is  it?  Also,  there's a  choice of  head covering,  but  I'm  not  in  love  with  either  really.  Any  suggestions  which would be better with my current  garb? ( See  profile  pic).  Any  help would be  appreciated.

The set is lovely but it is early 15ht c - not 16th c which I think is the look you are going for.  I *love* historical enterprises and, if you want to go earlier, by all means, this is the way to go. 

Have you considered making your own smock?  It's not difficult and would be way cheaper.

 yes,  my  faire and garb  is  set 16c,  I  had wondered that.

I have considered it,  even bought patterns,  but I can't sew more than a  button.   I'm afraid  my  patience even it comes to  trying  to learn isn't  what it should be. I  really  wish I  could do it,  especially since  it's be great to individuals my garb.

Okay, try etsy then.  I think a high neck smock might look lovely with your garb.  You can always leave the neck open when it gets warm.  Look for linen smocks or chemises.  I saw some decent ones for the $50-$65 range.

 I've actually read that before, I still have no desire to wear a bra to faire.  Lol

Also, the medieval garments are from ...the middle ages as the name implies.   Not the Renaissance.    During the Renaissance, the vast majority of dresses were either self supporting or required a pair of bodies (stays).   

All that being said, have you decided on a chemise/smock?

 still  casually looking,  but I'm not in any hurry. I  have one I  use,  but I'd like a longer one.   Might end up getting one on site.

Longer corsets are available, sometimes referred to as longline. But I have heard complaints that they can be difficult to sit.

I  have actually  there is a lot of cool garb there,  but I  meant a longer  chemise,  not  corset.  I  definitely want to be able to sit!

A chemise or shift typically comes down to mid calf.  Anything shorter is a shirt.
