April 13th, 2013

In days of yore, Knights were bold and ladies fair.  For six weekends, August 24 – September 29 on Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day Monday, the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival brings those days to life in the Shire of Morelandshire located in West Newton, Pennsylvania.  You can be a part of it. You can be one our cast of performers that brings the guest into the magical world that is a Renaissance Festival.  We are looking for outgoing, energetic individuals who enjoy the time period we portray.  We want people who dance like no one is watching, who haven't forgotten how to play like a child and who can be counted on to ensure that each of our guests receives an amazing personal experience to cherish and remember for years to come. Besides the thirteen performance days, cast members are expected to attend weekend rehearsals beginning in mid-July.  Performers will be compensated for performance days.

We will be holding auditions at Seton Hill University Performing Arts Centre (SHUPAC) on April 13, 2013 from 9AM till 4PM.  SHUPAC is located at 100 Harrison Avenue, Greensburg, PA. Theatrical experience is not essential, as performers at the Festival will be trained in outdoor interactive theatre and character development.  The Festival will help to develop tremendous confidence, audience awareness and character development skills.

Call (610) 413 – 0681 to schedule an audition appointment.  Prepare a one minute comedic or dramatic monologue (classical preferred).  If you have any special skills, be prepared to showcase them for us.  We are particularly interested in jugglers, musicians, mimes, and stage combat trained actors. Bring a photo and theatrical resume.  The photo does not need to be a "Headshot" or even on photo paper, but can be simply any photo with a representative depiction of the actor. If you have period costuming, please bring a picture of yourself in the costuming. Dress comfortably as there will be some improv exercises after the audition with some cast members.  And come with a strong desire to have fun, because that is what it is all about.  We firmly believe that in order for the guest to have fun, we must have fun!
