Hello All and thank you for all you do in making Scarborough such a great event!

I have a question for anyone if you don't mind.

Does anyone know if a miniature or a scale model has ever been made of Scarborough or any other Ren Faire? I would like to create one or better yet see one. I was thinking along the lines of a model rail road type of construction. I'm a lousy model maker but with all of the pictures on the net and pictures I have, I think it may be possible. I really wish I could create one that goes back from the hobbit hole to current day. That's just a pipe dream tho.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

P.S. please excuse my slow replies. I have odd hrs where computers are concerned.

Even in "N" scale (1/160th) it would be HUGE! 1 acre would be @5' square. Would be a fascinating project though.
My intentions are to commandeer a venue, sail to Tortuga, then pick, strum and otherwise play me weasily black guts out.

TRF and Scarby both might be intimidating.  How about Sherwood?  Literally smaller, but also structures are more spread out.

It would be a fascinating project, for sure! I agree with Polly, tho'. Unless you plan on this being a very long-term project, Sherwood would certainly be easier.

I've upped my standards. Now, up yours.

I too will second (third?) the suggestion to try Sherwood Forrest Faire.

I would even go so far as to suggest working in fairly small sections that can be linked together into the final product.

Thank you all for your advice. I do not disagree with any of you. I am perhaps being a bit ambitious.

Adding to Randal's suggestion, I may scale it down to individual buildings. Then I can do as he suggested and move to sections. My only issue with Sherwood is, I am not as familiar with it. I'll have to remedy that. As if I needed an excuse to go to faire! HA!

Perhaps C.A.D. or some type of computer model would be the way to get started? I don't know.

I really do appreciate the input. I probably should have posted this in the crafts section but I was trying to be specific to Scarborough. My late apologies.

Sounds like a fantastic endeavor!

Just wondering out loud here, but is Scarby building/remodeling like TRF and Sherwood?

TRF is always tweaking as well as rebuilding or changing older features and Sherwood is adding every year.

For a scale model, you might want to start with just a section of Scarby, then move on to another area next year.
