Any North Texas groups

I'm new to the life and was hoping there were others who lived in the North Texas area.  Do we have any groups or a place I could meet others and learn more?

We actually have a ton of Rennie's who live in the DFW area.. we used to even meet up once a month up in Lewisville, but havent' done that in months..

There are lots of DFW rennies.  Be sure to come out to scarby.  Lots of people on the forum meet up every weekend.

That's good to know. I look forward to meeting them. Don't think I'll be getting a chance to hit Scarborough again this month. Maybe a quick post to this thread if something in DFW gets planned. #PrettyPlease.

I made a FB account just for RenFaire stuff and joined the FB group. Does my request have to be approved?

I tried to join the row12 group and was denyed..... if you dont know anyone in the group they wont let you in

I sent a message to the guy who approved me to the group asking what the criteria is for getting into group.. I will let you know what he says, or if he has me direct you to him I can let you know that too.. Anyone who knows me personally for any length of time knows I vouch for VERY few people on this earth, and even then it can only be for certain situations.  So no offense, but I don't know you.. but I will see what I can do about why there was no response or denial..

The Row12 group is pretty much a bunch of folks who know each other already. I don't think anyone is trying to maintain exclusivity, but the don't want to open it up as public.  Get to know the folks, and you'll be able to join, my guess.   Most of them are also Friends of Faire as well.

yeah, it's not that someone is trying to be a pretentious arse or anything... they just don't want a bunch of random people that have no idea what Row 12 is all about to flood in!  They're just being cautious... that's all

The criteria for Row 12 is you normally park there and are a regular visitor known to more than one person.

If anything gets planned, I can cross post it under Scarborough Faire.

Hmmmm wondering if there's enough of an interest to create a public FB group & meetups for those of us in North Texas who'd like to meet new people prior to faire.

Not quite that, really. I'm from central Arkansas, but group with Row 12. We long-time FoF folks that have just gotten to know the people from under the stairs in row 12.  Although we aren't able to get down but 2-3 times a year, we do tailgate with the group, and have gotten quite close to several, such as the Don & Dona.

Always up for meeting more folks, though.
