We have a new plan for the really bad weather days, either boiling hot or snowing. Set up in a good spot and amuse ourselves gambling. I have some gold and silver replica coins from 15th century Spain; but I need some renaissance-ish copper coins.
Scarborough has a cool game shop; but no coin tokens.
Anyone else have any ideas?

These are more 17th century, but a project we're working on

Sounds like an odd source-but have you tried the craft stores in the jewelry section? sometimes you can find bags of metal faux coin charms that are reasonably cheap.
We've always just used toy doubloons, though they only seem to come in gold.
I have found bags of plastic coins that look like pennies, nickles and quarters at Nobbies.  They are used as table decorations.

I also found an interesting thread here: http://greenronin.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=12213 - that suggest that perhaps you could use something other than coins - what about using copper wire, or copper beads? Might lend an interesting flavour to your games!

This is where I get my gold and silver coins.

So when paying &24 for 50 coins I'm not looking to pay $18 each for copper.
Most of the craft store/belly dance coins that I've come across are like thin stamped aluminum. I don't see these holding up well in game play.

Thanks for the help...and keep sending me stuff you find.
