Anybody have a link? My MIL was admiring my ancient, ancient snood yesterday, and said she'd like to make herself one if I found her a pattern. I'm sure I could hunt one down myself, but I don't crochet, so I wouldn't know if I was looking at a good one or not!

MIL wouldn't care that crochet isn't period, and judging from some of her other accessories, might even like something with a somewhat Victorian sensibility about it  :)  My lovely little snood is over 20 years old now (bought it in Shakopee when I was in high school), and I have just never felt the need for a new one. (Also, apparently I am terminally incapable of making a proper caul. [shrug])

Thanks!!

Check out ravelry.  They have a search that you can customize - including only searching free patterns.  https://www.ravelry.com/

Gem, if your MIL crochets, she can probably figure out the pattern herself.  Can you put a white paper plate in the snood and photocopy or scan it flat?  It would make it easier to "read" the pattern.  HTH!

Molly, she probably could! MIL is like that. She is less confident about navigating the internet. :)

However, I did find this free pattern listed at etsy! (On a side note, I thought that was a really clever way to post a free pattern: "Don't add anything to your cart! Just scroll down for the instructions." You don't expect to find freebies on etsy!)

I printed it out & mailed it to her. :D
