New thread on FB TRF about campers

Just FYI:

There is a new thread on the TRF FB page, started about 10:30 this morning by the King requesting input on camper rentals for Faire.

Has big response and a few TRF responses about pads, electricity, water, dump station in the next couple years.

Not looking forward to generators huming in my ears all day and night and an array of campers lining my view of the evening sky instead of the trees.

I'm guessing a lot of the regular campers are not going to want to be segagated from the clans so would not use the pads.  Dump station would be nice but is not really that important.   I guess its is going to come down to the details on were the pads are how much the are and if they will break up regular camping groups.

My suggestion would be that they ditch the pad idea and instead run electrical throughout the campground.  Obviously charge for the hookup and ban ALL generators.

The upside, no noise pollution from all of the generators.  Possible downside, more lights and amplified music.

I think this is where it's all headed, but I really loathe to see how much light pollution will replace the noise.

Agreed.  I thoroughly enjoy sitting under the stars at night around the fire (When it's not pouring buckets.)  It's hard to say how many would utilize an easily accessible AC hookup to power their spot lights, blowup lawn ornaments, neon budweiser signs, Shooters For Hooters billboards, and the Association of A$S Monkeys Unlimited Board Meeting announcement in lazer lights.

Truthfully, the degredation of the TRF campgrounds is really just a sign of our world in general.  Sad but true.  Too many rats on the ship and a plague breaks out.  The world will right itself, but it won't be pretty while it does.  Wow, how the h3ll did I get off on that tangent (o:

i like the pad ideal. It will reduce generator noise by allowing the Rv's
My only issue is there does not seem to be a perfect spot to install them. I like the new area and have been camping in the 1a area. The wife likes the close walk to the fair. I will use the pads if they are open when i arrive. I see on fb a lot of tent campers are complaining about the rv's. Due to medical reasons i cant sleep in a tent and as i get older i happen to like having a real bed to sleep in.

i use generators but i use honda gens which are about the quietest ones there are. 
i love the idea of pads and having a dump station. that means we will camp alot more,my wife hates teh porta potties and if i have a convienent dump station i can bring my own water
