It is interesting- but it perpetuates some of the color myths that have been dis-proven with documentary evidence by others.

There are so many mistakes in that it's rather ridiculous.  As Dona Catalina already pointed out, the whole color thing is a complete myth.  (And if the writer bothered to read the sumptuary laws of the day, she would learn quickly that the purple thing only dealt with silk.   ...also, it was a very specific color.  What we call purple today was perfectly fine.
