Hi there!  My stage show, May I Have This Dance, is looking for some new members for the 2014 season. If you know of anyone who would be interested, please pass this along!

What is May I Have This Dance?
We are an interactive stage show that performs and teaches renaissance dances. We work mainly at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival, but may be making appearances at the St. Louis, Witchita, and Whitehart festivals as well.

We currently have seven musicians (drum, violin, guitar, 2 recorders, flute, tambourine) and 10 dancers. Our repertroire includes Nonesuch, Buffens (sword dance), Gathering Peascods, Siege of Carrik and others.

Is this a big commitment?
No! This is a completely for fun, and we are a very relaxed and lenient group. This is the best way to participate at renfest without tons of time commitment. Practices are twice a month right now, and once a week starting about June.

Any age restrictions?
We only ask that you be over 16. Members under 18 will not be able to travel with us if we do events outside of the state.

Do I need a costume?
Eventually, yes, but our group portrays villager or merchant class people, so it doesn't need to be fancy.

Will I get paid?
No. We occasionally receive compensation or tips for performances, but it is small and split among a lot of people. Our group performs for the love of music and dance, not profit.

How do I join?
Drop in at one of our open practices (Next one on April 6), or fill out the form on our website: http://mayihavethisdancekc.com
