This is actually the joy of Ren Camping.  Making the rounds and visiting.  The majority of the clans welcome visitors around their fires at night. Well, we welcome the civil visitors anyway.  I have had to escort some not so civil visitors out to the road.

Our group will be out opening but not 1001.  Perhaps we'll get to meet ya on another weekend or at Sherwood.

Thanks for the reply KP, too bad we wont see you guys this year. Ive never been to sherwood, and if I make it out to trf again this year it will be just m'lady and myself and we probably wont camp.

I still have a couple of questions:

Is there any unspoken rule about asking to "come aboard" or is it generally acceptable to walk up to the fire and say hello?

Would any clans be inviting of a traveling pub song singalong? (With instrumets)?

Funny you should ask - At Sherwood, Clan Procrastination has a boat deck laid out at the entrance to our camp.  It's our land locked Piratical Sailing Vessel.  In order to get into camp you have to cross the deck.  We now have most of the clans trained to yell, as loud as possible, "PERMISSION TO COME ABOARD!!"  At which time we answer as loud as we can muster, "PERMISSION GRANTED!!"

However, this only applies to our clan.  Around TRF, most everyone is accepting of anyone who is not a douche.  Someone mentioned in another thread that if you show up with something to share, you will find the host most welcoming.

I can't speak for every clan, but I know that mine loves to sing and play music and we welcome the traveling musicians to come in from the road and warm themselves by our fire.

I'll be with PR for Opening Weekend. AHE will be McShuggenah. Pirates Invasion will be wherever the Scarborough Pirate Fleet lands (TBD...)

Still Meggers, just a little more grown up now. :)

I've been camping for 10+ years and unless I REALLY know a camping I do ask...it also helps that I generally carry a bottle or three with me to share.

I will personally be going as my barbarian character on the barbarian weekend. I'm still debating whether to bring the garb for Asterion, my minotaur character from Middlefaire, to go to the masquerade ball.....will be camping but don't know where I'll set up my tent at.....

Hello Everyone.  Long time since I posted.  The family clan and I will be camping tomorrow for 1001 Dreams.  I am not sure exactly where, however most likely near G-1 close to entrance road.  The children are very excited.  We wanted to come opening weekend, however, work did not permit.   I hope to see you all this weekend!

Cheers

Duke & Dutchess Dozier with our tike prince (3yrs old)! Looking for camp clan for Celtic Christmas if anyone has room! Setting up camp Friday and leaving Sunday or Monday. No tickets to Ball currently. We usually camp where ever but just shy of the main party scene due to the little one.  The Duke is an amazing guitarist, drummer and sing/songwriter! (P.S. he is unaware I'm spilling this secret as of yet!!).  Let us know if yall have room!
