Just curious, but what's up with all the cops walking through the campsites? This is new.....

Curb drug use under age drinking and theft by the Ren rats maybe

I figured it was about curbing drug use and maybe the teenagers coming in from Houson to rave, but wanted someone else's opinion.

They've been walking the campsites, near the bonfire, for a few years now...they usually don't walk the "fringe" camps out on the edges.  This may have changed but i didn't see any stroll through our camp AHE, other than Thursday afternoon...

Terre had them step up a presence significantly after some incidents that happened last year and opening of this year. I've been working or attending TRF for 25 years, and this is the heaviest presence I have ever seen, but also the fewest incidents I have ever heard as well. So, for the anti-authoritarian types who hate LEOs and want to cause trouble, it's hell *coughraverscough*. For those of us with families who don't like our camps raided by thieves- or medics like me sick of carrying drunks out of the fire or drugged women back to safe haven- it's a hell of an improvement.

We have never seen the cops in our area of camps, and it is on the out lands near quiet in the 14 years we have been going.   This is the first time they came to our camp.   We greeted them warmly and had no problems with them.  Seeing them surprised the heck out of us, but everything was alot more sedate in the camping area.
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.
