What kind of sword should I go with for woodsmen/Robin garb? Thanks in advance.

The woodsman and Robin Hood didn't carry swords.  Swords were expensive, heavy, and not exactly easy to climb a tree with.  This is why they always had bows and arrows. 

The Robin Hood legend seems to be from around the end of the 12/early 13th c.   You'd want a sword with a hilt similar to this

Thanks for the help, after posting I did some more digging and found some pics of a Robin Hood statue in Nottingham, and the statue has a sword very similar to that one.
