Lady Kathleen of Olmsted

For many, Faire season has started or is just around the corner. What do you have own your sewing schedule? Mine is looking pretty busy as I delve in many periods and genres.

What I have coming up.....A replication of a Chemise/Smock, Septa Unella from Game of Thrones, Boudica, a couple of  Pirate Coats, shirts and chemises for clients, and a Victorian Bustle Gown for myself, and a Civil War Ball gown for a client's wedding in Texas in October.

Replicating the one to the lower right.

Going to be made from Linen coming from Denmark of all places.

A Civil War era Ball Gown I will be making from a rich dark green Dupioni Silk and Black Venise lace, unless I find an embroidered silk.

We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are---
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

A Cosplay Snow White I am doing for a client in Montgomery, Texas.

The Skirt with a lacy overlay I bought from a vendor on eBay. Satin for the Under skirt, Cape, and Collar. The Corset mockup I made fir perfectly, So I can get started on that.

I haz some ideas, Merlin! Something with a touch of GOLD in it.  8)

The outer layer of the Corset. The under layers are Cotton Canvas with boning channels as well as a lining layer. I have plenty of Blue Satin to make a binding before I add the Gold Gimp and Gold appliques.

The Cosplay Snow White is finished. I took the corset part to the Shoe Repair for Brass Grommets. The Gold embroidery designs are Iron On appliques from www.gloryshouse.com.
I have yet to tack on the Modesty panel at the back and ship this beauty down to Texas on Friday.

This was a fun project to work on. More information about my work can be found on my Facebook page for Custom Designs by Lady Kathleen.
