I'm looking to make a more abstract outfit. A couple vests, shirts, pants, skirts you know the deal just a bunch of interchangeable pieces . I'm thinking of browns, reds and blues. Do you think this would work well?

It looks a bit too much like the 1960's to me.  Unless you are going as a Hippie to the Renn Fest, I'd stay away.  Your color choices are good.  Maybe go with solid colors?   Also, what do you plan on going to the Renn Fest as?

I love those colors. You've got the right idea to make several interchageable pieces. I do wonder if the fabric is a bit to heavy weight for anything more than an open vest. Might be a bit warm.

I took a quick look through Denver Fabrics and found something you may like with similar colors and a much lighter weight. It's still not a true Renaissance pattern, as I believe the period leaned more toward geometrics. Not too sure about that, but anyway, I thought you might like it.

I like it, too.  I don't mind modern/funky fabrics in Fairwear, and I have a weakness for those chenille tapestries.

If you aren't going for H/A, and if you like it, go for it!  It really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.  And you shouldn't care what they think, either, imho, if you really like it and wearing it will make you feel good.

I love it! I'm assuming that you're going for a gypsy/Middle Eastern/non H/A look? the colors and design are perfect! You should post a picture of your garb when it's finished in the gallery of finished projects!

Just weighing in again.  First, it's heavy weight upholstery fabric.  What does this mean?  It typically means a very stiffened fabric, sometimes rubberized on the back, meant for heavy traffic areas.  It is not meant to be flowing (like drapery) or loose like apparel fabric.  It will not conform to your body at all and it will be extremely uncomfortable.

Second, as I said earlier, the fabric is done in a 1960's/1970's fashion.  It's meant to look like that era.  It might be okay for some fantastical applications if it weren't for the first point.

Look elsewhere.  If you are heart-set on this style, look for similar designs in the quilting cottons or other lighter fabrics.  You will be far happier in the long run with a fabric made to be worn rather than a fabric that is meant to go on the doctor's office sofa.  Depending on the application, you might want to look at some drapery fabrics as well.
