I've noticed that, while very good, some of the photos in this thread aren't necessarily "Faire Photos".

Is there a thread for nice photos of the mundane world, other than "Funny Pictures / Interesting Images" in Mundane Topics?

This thread was originally created for people to share any photos that they have personally taken (even if not faire related) versus the "Funny Pictures" thread in Mundane Topics where people post random things found on the internet.

Thanks for the reply!

I've got some shots, using my new D90 Digital SLR and (mostly) 10mm - 24mm lens, that I'd like to post.

When I was walking around at Kemah Boardwalk in Kemah, TX a few weeks ago, I shot this picture using my new Nikon D90 and 10mm - 24mm Wide-Angle Zoom Lens.  The Zoom setting was 10mm (~15mm for a 35mm Film Camera).  It has a 109° Field of view at the 10mm setting, and I was shooting from about 2-1/2 - 3 feet from the car (you can see my reflection in the bumper).  I love really wide angle lenses!  One lens I'd like to get in the future is a Nikon 10.5mm DX Fisheye (180° Field of View).

Nice shot and one cool squad car!

Thanks.  It was an experiment using the wide-angle lens.

While that old squad car has current plates, I think it's only used for parades.  They've got new squad cars to use when patrolling in Kemah.

Would you by any chance happen to know what year that squad car is?

I didn't look that closely when I was taking pictures that Saturday.  When I get back to Texas from my High School Reunion, I can check to see what year the car is.
