To battle mosquitoes  B-1 vitamin.  works for me. they don't bite me anymore.

Explain please . . . I'd like to be mosquito free too, lol.

We've tried deodorized garlic tablets as well.

To be Mosquito free all you need is me. I'm the ultimate magnet for the Mosquito Devil Spawn. Nothing has ever worked to keep them off me. Other than staying indoors with everything sealed up.  :(

So, back on topic....a picture!  Found this stone that looks like a giant sewing needle stuck in the ground the other day...

It was a Celtic Gathering at the Silver Leaf (Michigan) Ren Fest this weekend. There were several competitions going on but I liked the one where the guys were tossing large blocks of concrete attached to chains. I think this guy was able to "toss" this one about 70 feet. Damn!

That is a good shot of the effort required to throw the weight.

Definitely not Ren-related (MiRF doesn't start for a few weeks anyway), but here's a shot from an off-road event I shot in Canada a few weeks ago:

That looks like the stone blocks that I have in my back yard but mine are probably alot smaller, and they were part of a fence in the old days.

My guess for this would be some kind of dirt road derby if that's what it was. Don't quote me on it because it's just a rough guess on my part, but nice shot anyway.

Thanks, guys!  It was from an off-road event between Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta called "Highriders Challenge 2009".  I'm trying like crazy to post up as many of the shots as I can, as I racked off about 1600 photos and 2 hours of HD video over two days.  Wicked fun.  Came *verrrrry* close to getting run over twice.

Oh ya, mud bogs are fun events to be at. Do you have a PBase or Flickr site?

Jon,

Here's the set as it stands now (33 shots):

(for the record, the "cleavage signing" shot is of two great friends of mine, with whom I was staying in Calgary)

DOH! I should have looked at the link under your profile.

Nice shots! We're gonna have to meet up at MIRF this year.
