Mikael of Aragon

4 1/2 months. She's going on 2 and been both years, multiple times (we have season passes). We make sure she has plenty to eat and drink, stays cool and in the shade, and gets escorted around in her own custom carriage. She really enjoys it, and this year even yelled 'Huzzah!' during the joust.   ;D

Our first was 3 months old for her first, and has been to more since then than the family as a whole. I remember somebody wrote somethign about kids at faire being along the lines of 'how many kids get to play dress-up with their parents for a whole weekend?' Have fun with them, let them have fun, and get another generation of rennies ready to take over the world.

My son went for his first time last year-he was, if I remember correctly, right around 8 or 9 months.  He will be going again this year.  He did attend in mommy's belly the year before that.   ;)   ugh, it was much nicer once he was out, though...

We have 2 boys, now 16 and 8. They have been going to fairs with us for 3years. They love going as much as we do. They know most of the songs to most of the performers that we see at the fairs. It gets now that every time we go, they ask what are piece of costume are we going to buy them.

My peanut went in utero last year, and he will be attending Bristol this year at the ripe old age of 8 months.  I can't wait...his garb is all ready and everything!    ;D

My daughter has been attending the GSTLRF since the age of 3 months.  She is a ture rennie child.  It helps that she has made friends with several of the stage acts, the Limeybirds especially.  She actually has a countdown til the next faire weekend.  That being said, the first several years I had to go as just another patron rather than as my playton self.  Last year I joined the cast and so it has become more difficult to take her with me.  That being said, I have enough friends at the faire, or that attend faire that she could go every day and I will still be able to be on cast and she would be able to go around and have fun.  Of course she would be happy just sitting at the Limey's stage all day.

Great!!  Now I feel guilty!!  :P
My son's 3 and we haven't taken him yet.  I'll admit, a small part is out of fear he won't like it, but then again, I bought him one of those wooden wheeled dragons you push around on a stick when he was 1.  He promptly named it "Rennie" and it's still one of his favorite toys!
Since we're just day-tripping this year, I think it's time he got his first taste!!

FortuneRose

maelstrom, I think he will LOVE IT!  especially since he is right at that age where, generally, boys LOVE swords, play action fighting, dragons, etc.  Don't feel guilty, he can start now and grow up remembering his visits (well, he may not remember this one)  Plus 3 is a really fun age where they actually can start to enjoy the fantasy environment around them...  younger than that and its really the parents toting them around, lol.

Thanks for the support, FR! He's got this "All Terrain" wagon and I think we'll take that in case he starts to get too tired. He has foam swords and loves to beat up daddy when we play "The Evil Pirate Nathan" so he's definitely got that part down!

My son went for the first time this year, which also happened to be my first year.  He's three.  I am sure we will be going for many years to come!
