Thank you.  This is lots of fun.  The black and white is the last of 4 day and evening outfits.  I have a banyan cut ans awaiting stitching (90% machine, so it should go quickly).  I may have time for a Domino, but there are other works in progress to complete first!  Some tantalizing glimpses of the stuff for my friend Roger:

(Scribbling a note on the toile!)

Pocket flaps for coat and waistcoat.  There will also be breeches, which are almost finished but I haven't sorted the pix out yet.

Thank you.  :-*  Wait 'til you see the yellow waistcoat with the gold lace added!  :o

LadyStitch

Kate you are giving the Pink Pirate ideas.... ;D
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

OMG! The talent here is so amazing! First thing every morning I look to see who has posted new pictures!

Kate, you seem to have been verrrrrry busy. Did you do the stomacher by hand or machine? I love the colors.

Lady Rebecca, That chemise a la reine is so pretty. Looks so delicate. I love the lace around the neckline.

By the way, any of you coming to AZRF this spring? Our dates are Feb 12th-April 3rd.

The stomacher was hand stitched using crewel work techniques but stranded embroidery floss (because we have all the embroidery floss in the world!), to my own design.  I'm pretty busy...  Still have time to breathe!   :D

Anna Iram

Kate I recall when you posted the stomacher. I love seeing it in it's place with the red dress. Really nice.  :)

Here's what I've been up to recently... a labor of loathe. I do dislike paying a lot of money for garb only to have to go back and redo it!

I'm currently beading the sleeves, and I need to find pictures of my beaded underskirt I'm going to use with it, and not the gold monstrosity that came with it.

Here's a link to the blog post, as it is image heavy and I didn't want to eat up the page with pics.

I love those sleeves  :o I saw somewhere how to make/sew sleeves like that. I wish I would have bookmarked it  :'(

I was just browsing through the Italian Showcase in The Realm of Venus and admired a dress blog using that type of sleeve: Look in the 1570-1589 under Ariels diary.

CapnFaye, that's so pretty. Nice choice for the forepart fabric. Matches beautifully and sort of "grounds" the gown.

*edited* I'm never really sure that it's good form to post a direct link to someone elses diary, so I'll just point the way.*

LadyShadow

Thank you Anna, I might have to give that version a try. But there is a way to sew the fabric just right so that it looks weaved, but in all is just the same piece of fabric, instead of cut pieces weaved together. But again, I might have to give the version you provided a try too.

I'd love to see that if you ever find the link. I'm curently having lot's of fun browsing through all the wonderful blogs thinking of how to remake a gown into an Italian one. I know I want some sort of opening in the long sleeves, most likely I'll be making large slashes and piping the edges, but I'd love to see another option.
