My latest completed outfit:

This is the eyelet detailing of the back. Yes, I should've done spiral lacing, but I like the way this looks. The lacing job is sloppy b/c my mom helped me into it, lol:

And one of my favorites I made this past year in it's completed form. It's just so "country peasant" I love it:

We had a great deal of fun at MiRF this year! I hope to go back ONE more time, but we'll see.
I'm not supposed to be doing any sewing during the nursing program...but I can work on another corset from time to time...right? Maybe a piratey one...hmmm....

P.S. does anyone have any tips on how to keep the shoulders of a square neck chemise from slipping down? Did I not fit it properly, or do I just have sloped shoulders? lol!

Ha! I recognize that corset! Yours looks fantastic!! Great topline. (Mine looks like that when Milord laces it up, too. I've shown him the fix in the Margo Anderson manual, but his eyes glaze over...)  And I'm so glad you got a shot of the finished "floofy" skirt ensemble! It's so much fun!

Those nurses sound MEAN. They won't let you sew? What's up with that?!

Thanks Gem! I'm an idiot, I meant to post this in FINISHED projects! Can I move it?
Supposedly I won't have TIME to work on anything...we'll see ;)

I love the shape of the corset!  What pattern is it?  I like how you made the tabs overlapping too.

Thanks Betty! It's just the Simplicity Elizabethan underpinnings pattern. It includes corset, chemise, bumroll, and farthingale. #2621. The tabs aren't supposed to do that, I had a fitting issue that I didn't figure out how to solve til AFTER I added the tabs, and I just wasn't going to tear it apart. Plus, I kind of like the overlapped look too, lol!

Pattern 2621, duh, I should recognise that too, I made one 2 years ago.  As soon as I find someone to lace me up the back, I am going to make another one!

So here's the latest progress on my corded/curved-front linen bodice, now with guards!! Please note the beautifully mitered corners on the guards, there (hee!):

...Somewhere in this thread from about a year ago are the last progress pix for this dress (fitting the bodice mockup and the corded innards). I ran out of time to make it last year, but decided I'd give it another shot this season. I've had that coral colored linen in my stash since 2008! It has been through MANY incarnations of what it might become--from an 18th century jacket to a mundane embroidered tunic--but now it's pretty much committed.  ;D

I had TOTALLY DIFFERENT PLANS for the guards--all along they were going to be remnants from the chocolate brown linen of my avatar dress, but the linen did not cooperate. So then I switched to 1/2" nut brown twill tape, but couldn't make up my mind what pattern I wanted. I was intending to do something different than the typical arrangement... but then I tried the 1" wide black... and realized why *everybody* goes with this look! It just looks best, for some reason. Who am I to buck tradition?

Its looks great, Gem :-) And the mitered corners look wonderful!

Gorgeous, Gem -- and I love the mitered corners, too!  That takes some doing, as we used to say!

If I may add my own progress:

Covered the French hood & started the necklace.  http://s1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff400/pinquerose27/RF%20Garb/?action=view&current=w.jpg

The bodice with the jewels and gold laces at neckline (please excuse the fluff on the faux mink cuff!):  http://s1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff400/pinquerose27/RF%20Garb/?action=view&current=w2.jpg

Closer picture of bodice:  http://s1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff400/pinquerose27/RF%20Garb/?action=view&current=w3.jpg

Skirt.  It was too heavy-looking with just the wide gold bands down the front, so I'm sewing on green "jewels" every inch or so down the bands: http://s1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff400/pinquerose27/RF%20Garb/?action=view&current=w5.jpg

LadyStitch

It is laid out not cut out, but I hope to start working on it this Friday, and weekend. I'm getting the itch to make something for fuzzlet again.  I'm trying to repurpose a christening gown pattern to make the kiddo a HA looking smock.  I have left over cotton from the blue chamise I made for myself back in April.  Then I have some left over antique gold silk that I had been useing as trim and details on a new bodice for myself.  This way we have a matching Daddy outfit, and a matching mummy outfit.
It also doesnt' hurt if the outfit is made to be worn during Scarby's late season warm weather.  ;D
If this works, I may make her a few more to run around it, or even post up on etsy to sell.
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Mitered corners noted Gem! Fantastic! I wish you could show me how to do that; I have the worst time with cornering my bias tape. Can't wait to see it complete; you always do such lovely work!

Looking good Lady Pynquerose! It's coming together quickly, and it's accuracy to the original is perfect! Good job!

The green bodice with the faux mink is stunning, I love the embroidery and detail in the trim. Really wonderful!

I finished the guards on the bodice! Huzzah!  I lost my mind a little and decided to topstitch them by hand (?!), so it took a little longer than I'd planned. Now I'm off to go stitch up the bottom of the bodice so I can attach the skirt.

Pynque, that is looking SMASHING!  I would love to see other photos of your work, if you have them!
