Centuries!  I *have* that trim--I'm going to use it for the Promenade gown--but I never thought of doubling it up like that.  Brilliant!  I have new inspiration for the St. Catherine gown, now.

I finally got the sewing bug back (woohoo!) so I've started on my green Elizabethan doublet gown. So far I've only been working on the forepart, but here are a few pics:

It's not really off center, just a really bad angle to take a pic!!

Simba decided he needed to inspect it!

Detail showing the beading. The beading around the diamonds will all have the blue/pearl combo.

So now I just gotta finish beading/trimming, iron it, sew the actual lining to it, and then woo! On to the main gown part! It seems the forepart always takes me the longest...probably because of all the stinking beads!

I need to get a pic taken of my sketches. But the fabrics and the old sketch (not a doublet style) can be found at http://capnfayecutler.renspace.com

I think I can get this project done by May (keeping fingers crossed!)

Which one, the green main fabric or the brown for the forepart? I have plenty of both and I'm willing to share hehe!

Back of tudor gown.  You can see the different shine of the velveteen.  This was the original purchasers choice, because she wanted a train, and that was the only way to get it.  It doesn't show up as much as it does in this photo.  *sigh*

The first dress you posted was absolutely beautiful.  Can't wait to see the blue one finished.

That is the exact shade of blue I'm looking for to make my Tudor gown!  Weird.  :D

It's truly gorgeous, I can't wait to see it finished!  I hope when mine gets made it looks half as good as yours!

Gorgeous work indeed!  I hope to be half as skilled someday!

I think the Tudor gown is especially lovely, and I can't wait to see the rose gown finished - I think that is my favorite of the three   ;D
