Has anyone ever ordered anything from Royal Coffers? I am just curious to the quality of the fabric and boning...

The prices are sure right, which makes me wonder...

This is what I am looking at...

I have not ordered royal garb but have used them for peasant garb for me and my daughter and a couple of her friends. I highly recommend them.
Just make sure that if you want a certain fabric or something special that you write one e-mail with all of the information. We had 3 people in the cast of NCRF with the same fabric on our bodices. It did not bother me or one of the other people but one of the cast member had a real problem with it. My feeling was that if we were living in a small village and all wanted brocade bodices that we would likely end up with the same tailor and would likely have similar bodices.

The prices are good and for custom clothes, I think they are great.

My ex got a coat and dublet from them.  I was NOT impressed with the quality of the garb.  We had to get the coat re-worked and he never cared for the doublet.  His new/ex GF got some noble garb from them but hasn't made any complaints.  However, I have been to MDRF and on any given weekend and seen at least 2-3 girls on any give day wearing the SAME garb from Royal Coffers, just different colors and I think the sleeves were different styles.  Personally, based on my ex's garb, I'd never buy any from them.
I don't know what you've heard, none of it is factual, but it's all true.

I've never purchased from them so I can't say anything about the quality. Their things aren't particulary historically accurate if that means anything to you. And, as Lady D said, you can spot RC nobles garb from a mile away.

If you are still interested, I'll let you know when I get mine. The price certainly WAS right for me and I liked what I bought. Like Metheri said, "if we were living in a small village and all wanted brocade bodices that we would likely end up with the same tailor and would likely have similar bodices". I just hope that I don't fall victim to any garb snarks just because it might look similar to another's outfit or anything. But I'm sure most people will be nice.

I have a couple of outfits from Royal Coffers. Not to bad for the money, boning is not great but I have redone it on some of the pieces.I have seen a couple of people a faire with clothes like mine but they don't realize it because I will dress my clothes up with different jewelry and stuff. You can add trim and all kinds of stuff. Good Luck.

Thanks everyone!!

I did in fact see several ladies at MNRF in the dress I have been looking at this last weekend, and a few even let me take a very close look, feel the boning, etc...  :)

It may not be the best quality out there, but for the price it is not too bad...

I normally am dressed as a wench since I serve beer at MNRF so I will only get to wear this particular outfit maybe once a season if even that, so spending hundreds of dollars on a noble dress just doesn't make sense to me right now, and I've never been concerned with H/A, I just dress for the fun!  ;D

Again, I thank everyone for your insights!!!
