Glad Deuce will be OK! HUZZAH!
Whew!
I know how you love him, Cat! HUGS!!!
All better here today!  I am gaining on the Nargles!!! Still keeping fingers crossed and wand at the ready!!!
Meowmobile is back running great!!!  It passed State inspection today! Got a few drool marks from the inspector too.
A/C is working! I am happier. Dealing with more problems over the phone- (Press 1 for on hold forever! Yikes!) That is much nicer than car trouble, Plumbing leaks and no A/C.
My neighbor has not seen Harry Potter and Loves movies. he is taking me to see Harry again- at IMAX!!!
I deserve it! LOL!

The beasties got into my lizard worms today... killed a bunch but we saved much of them so the lizards get to eat!  Glad you got your car running,ac fixed and get to go see IMAX! I get a new waterwell tomorrow...no more sand! Cat

Alas! Magick does not work on fire ants! Nothing works on fire ants. Dratted things!
It will be nice to have things running smoothly for a change!

You might try one of these to deal with fire ants.  ;)

Well, Wikipedia say that the Giant Anteater is found in Central and South America, so I suspect they could survive in Central Texas.  I don't know if it's actually legal to buy and own one in Texas, though.

I dare say they are like our dear Horntoads and can't eat fireants...

indigocenter

Well we could import a new and different species into our ecosystem to eat them that will tilt the planet on its axis quicker!  That is the govt way, anyway   >:(!

I think they should genetically modify them to eat ONLY fireants... then we will have fat Aardvarks roaming around!

I just found this UT - Imported Fire Ant FAQ, and question #18 says:

Quote from: Larry Gilbert, Director - Brackenridge Field Laboratory, The University of Texas at Austin
18. Why not import anteaters?

Although anteaters are terrific ant predators, their cousin, the armadillo, is already in Texas, but has had little effect on RIFA populations. Good biocontrol agents are 1) highly host specific, 2) limited by their host availability, and 3) able to survive in the climate where they are introduced to control the pest species.

Anteaters consume a wide range of ants, not just fire ants and, except for the giant anteater, live in trees and usually eat ants that nest in trees. Because the RIFA does not usually inhabit trees, the anteater wouldn't have much of a chance to eat RIFAs. Also, anteaters are tropical and would not survive cold weather as well as fire ants do. Importing anteaters as biocontrol agents of the RIFA is an idea based on comic strips, not scientific observations.

(RIFA = Red Imported Fire Ant)

Oh well! I will have my dragons blast the fire ant mounds! I'll give THEM fire!!!
Fie on fire ants!
I have the dreaded Nargles at bay for now! Saw Harry Potter at IMAX yesterday. Also saw a movie about the building of the Space Station at IMAX free before Harry Potter.! Wow! The 3 D was awesome. A friend took me.
Nice to get away from it all for a day! Magick and outer space- just what I needed!

WOW magic in Outer space...even better!!!! Glad you got away to have fun... Maybe we have the dread nargles on the run! Next week Doc is going to do EXrays of Deuces legs to be sure there is NO damage that could show up at speed... So far he looks happy and healthy but small cracks in the bones can be hard to know of without films...and deadly when galloping!  So he is on a small rest for now! I still think I should get a fireant muncher and build it a heated hut for winter! If they can eat fireants I need 2!!!! WOW looks like a storm brewing! cat

Queen Bonnie

No! More Nargles! Will it never end? Today the downstairs A/C died. Another capacitor. Another $$$$!  I am getting sick of my friendly neighborhood A/C guy. I hope I don't see him for a long time!
The pool guy is on the way. Something is wrong  there too.
I hurt my back trying to do too much. Tree limbs falling down.
I just want a few boring days with no problems!!!
But at least the Royal Felines are OK.
Waving wand and disspelling the Nargles! I think I have a boggert and possibly a Dementor after me too?
