I spent a weekend in Chicago working on a church retreat (wild and wacky, not silent and somber!).  We left Chicago around 5:45 p.m. on our 3 hour drive back to Galena.

We weren't driving an hour when it started snowing.  And it snowed the whole rest of the way home.  Steve didn't even take any back roads because he said just in case the roads became icy, the plows would be out on the highway first spreading salt.  If we went off the road on the back roads, there aren't many houses around, and neither of us wanted to start hiking or sit in the car waiting for help that might have a treacherous time coming.

We made it home safely, and the snow didn't really stick, but snow in October.  How yukky is that???!!!

Used to be here in Colorful Colorado we had snow by the holiday weekend in may or at the latest end of Oct. The high country has seen snow, and some light snow in Denver in south but not much. I also remember Halloweens wer always snhowly and cold. This year it is suppose to be 70 in the day time.

Me? I'm happy there hasn't been any snow to drive in, but I do want to see the snow where I don't have to drive on a regular bases.

Up here in MN we had snow on Sunday.  Yup.  It didn't stick but it did fall down white and fluffy.  Oh yea, and sideways.  :-\
Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.

My son (now 29) use to love Halloweens in Wyoming & Colorado.  He'd often be the only Trick or Treater due to the snowy/blizzarding weather & he'd come home w/the motherlode of treats.  Since I drove him - house to house - he'd have full pillowcases in the backseat.

I'm glad you made it home safely, Lady Renee.
