No one is perfect so it's inevitable that there will be kinks that will need to be sorted out and questions that need to be answered. We got in at right about 12 Friday night, and while sitting in line, watched them turn away around five or six different cars, all of which it looked like, were teenagers. The drum circle Friday seemed very very small, and then Saturday night, it was at its usual capacity but cops were constantly moving through the crowd. I'm very thankful for all the work the law enforcement officers are doing to keep us safe.
Still Meggers, just a little more grown up now. :)

i was super excited to see all faire people milling around at camp this weekend, but i'm sadened by the thought that some of the participants won't be able to get in.... that really sucks!!  although where there's a will, there's a way.... so i'm sure the more determined will still get over to playtrons :)

I want to say that I was truly impressed by the efforts made this past weekend and the hassle involved was minimal I believe given the benefit.  I went on walk abouts both Friday and Saturday night and I marked a NOTICABLE difference in the music, in the lack of teenage drunkards about, and in the fire circle itself.   I went on Friday night, and it was great.  The drummers were also being very helpful in keeping stupid people from doing stupid stuff.  One drunk guy nearly jumped over the fire to come and kind of surprise a belly dancer girl and as soon as he did it, he was surrounded by drummers and forced out of the circle, yelled at and told to not come back.  I also saw tons of cops and security people actually AT the bonfire and checking ID's and making sure people were following rules.  We all felt tons safer!!

We also thought we'd test the theiving issue and left a half drunk bottle of loki out on the table when we went to bed Friday night. (my friends hated the flavor so didn't mind loosing it) Anyhow, it was still there Sat morn, so maybe the theiving is even getting better??

I had a few concerns about all the annoyances people talked about at camp, and I've been following this thread with interest. So comments like the above are making me feel a lot better about coming out.  See ya' on Highland weekend!

I can honestly say that camping was kinda boring this last weekend. I'm not complaining at all. I was just expecting some kind of drama. Which never happen. And I didn't have anything stolen.
It was actually nice. I didn't hear any speaker music on my walkabouts Friday or Saturday night.

I complimented many of the officers during the weekend on how much better things were. I was a very happy camper.

*I woulda offered rum... but you know... the bribery thing... so i just kept thier share.*

Tanyor...at our camp this weekend was our friends bachelor/bachelorette party. I dont think there was any drama, but we had a good time. I guess you weren't able to make it to valhalla/Brigadoon for that  :(

I would'nt say things were boring...but it was quiet. A lot better than drunk people playing a screaming game of "marco polo" at 3 am or having to listen to rap music at all hours.

I fell asleep to  the nice sounds of people talking, laughing and good drum beats. I thought it was great!

Good news indeed, but the weekend will not be complete without a random drunkard collapsing on one of the Brothers tents at 4 in the morning. Go Ogre!

Who said there weren't DRUNKARDS!!!!  They just happen to be more well mannered RENNIE drunkards who usually have a friend or "caretaker" in tow....

Ahhh -- the prospect of a cool evening and warmin libations and heart-throbbing drum beats -- I'm getting chills (the GOOD kind this time) just thinking about it!!!  Shiver me timbers and haul out the offin' plank, I'm comin' ashore!!!

Friday night I made it over their, No one knew who I was, I did share some wine with a few of you though I was already tanked off of DS's loki so I don't remember any of their names.
I guess I need to meet you in person "Sober". I'll put Lady Jessica or Blue in charge of setting up a meeting with you if I can make it out again this year.

I like that, the "offin" plank!

Ye're right, the drums WERE quite good Saturday night!  8) (Must've been, me hands still hurt! I've never had tape fall off m' fingers before.)  Graeme and Andy were out for just a wee bit, long enough to attract a few "good" drumming leaders before they headed back to Brigadoon. I thanked them all, because I'd had too much chocolate loki to do anything but rythym.  ;D Saturday night can't arrive soon enough!

I would agree the drums were good Saturday night for the time we were there.  I enjoyed joining in for awhile 'cuz Samedi didn't feel up to playing that night.  It seemed to be a much tamer crowd than opening weekend, as well.  We enjoyed it.
