Hannah weekend was great!!  What a blast we had!

You are indeed a brave soul!  I agree with you on the vendor thing though.  The shopping is the best when there aren't alot of people in the booths.  At the same time, for the benefit of thos shop owners, we can all certainly hope that every shop is filled to capacity every day!

oooo...he said the "R" word!  shhh!   we can't have any of that!

Whoa ... speak for yourself lass, I love rain at faire! Keeps the drovers away. Best faire days are when it rains hardest!

So, having never been to MDRF in September...what kind of weather can we expect or what has happened in the past years? Just want to make sure I bring the right garb and if it should include flippers, a snorkle and a rubber ducky!
I can be one of those "bad things" that happen to bad people.

Expect hot and muggy and yes, possible rain. Expect it to be even hotter out near the joust field (no trees).

But mostly expect it to be hot. Temperatures lately have been in the upper 80's, lower 90's with enough humidity make the heat index icky, especially since you'll be outside all day.

Oh, and the rest of faire too. Not my finest look though, but sobering to say the least!

MDRF liaison committee: Work with MDRF to ensure that we don't break any rules like fire eating in the parking lot or having a kilt competition detracting from faire - basically bump everything we do to ensure no one comes from afar to get kicked out of faire the first day.

Nope, no fire at MDRF. London Broil had a pretty nice gag about this, juggling things with felt "flame" because....no real fire. Fight School has "mime fire" which then we get, "oh no, no fire at the faire, put out the mime fire!!!!".

Fire used to be allowed, a few years ago, but then there was an accident involving it and a patron or two so they don't allow fire at the faire anymore.

Faire does not ... well let me say, they strongly discourage outside performers ... PERIOD. If they catch you doing it ... inside/outside the gate, you stand a very good chance of not being allowed to enjoy MDRF at all. Especially anything to do with fire. Sorry, but rules are rules.

I am not saying personally that you can't do it ... but the risk (in my opinion) is MUCH greater than the reward.

Point taken....I will just partake in the alcohol and perhaps a little nibble of food.

I posted a few sites up in the rendevous threads for alternate activities for anyone coming to town in vacation mode. Take a gander and post additions as you see fit.
