We close in two weeks.  Exciting.  Lord Dragonspyre has been so gracious to assist me with some design work.  Web page, though under construction and definitely a project in development, will be up in the next couple of weeks.

Have started to receive interest from a handful in participating either as entertainers or artisans.  Keep the emails coming.

Here is where I am at:
1) close on the three tracts of land (total of 105 acres)
2) erect the billboard on u.s. highway 290
3) clear the underbrush and enlarge the lake
4) set up the camphouse as an office
5) develop the basic grounds layout
6) start laying out lines for electrical, water and telephone
7) construction of basic initial structures
    a) front gate
    b) restrooms
    c) stages and music platforms
    d) faire booths
8) fencing
9) parking lot
10) camping areas
11) collapse

looks like the grounds will be laid out as follows:
three large circles w/merchants/artisans/demonstrations/food and drink booths
games
church
fantasy forest w/druid stone circle
children's area
sherwood forest stage area
about a 1/2 acre pond to be drained and turned into a amphetheatre
joust
four -eight stages
one pub w/another to be added w/adult section in phase two
nottingham town square will be phase two

hope many of you will get involved and become part of what i hope to be a fascinating and wonderful experience of faire experience at its best, of community, of an expression from the heart and imagination.

more later.

RenGypsy, I like how your are approaching this endeavor and I would like to be a part of this if I may.  I was on cast at the old Excal for 6 years playing a major role and would love to help this faire grow as I helped Excal grow.  Please let me know how I may be of assistance.

Thanks for your efforts in undertaking such a monumental endeavor.

a thousand thanks.  am truly enjoying the assistance i am receiving.  while i had hoped to gather shortly after we close on the land next week, i think, reasonably, since it is so damn hot and there is a burn ban in effect, i will postpone our gathering of common souls around a campfire until after trf.  we participate in two faires currently as merchants--trf and king richard's faire in mass.  therefore we are busy preparing to ship off to carver mass in a month.  when trf is over, we will send out notice to all inviting you to a weekend to walk the grounds, drink some great belgian ale (maredsous), drum around a campfire, and dialogue about how best to proceed.  by that time, i will have had the underbrush cleared and we can all get a better view of the grounds.

the website is coming along.  the artwork for the billboard will be ready in two weeks.  you will all love the artist's rendition of my vision of the faire.

we will need all of your thoughts, energies, and commitments to making this a fascinating and wonderful experience.

i am not--not--just a dreamer.  i am a businessman.  i do what i say.  i follow through with my ideas.  i run several businesses...and am investing a heck of a lot of financial resources of my own money into this and have every expectation that it will succeed.

i am a rennie at heart.  i have travelled the world.  i have been at trf since i was an adolescent.  i believe so much in what the rennie community offers--from a psycho-social perspective, from a spiritual/emotional perspective, and from a purely business perspective.

i think when we can all have a hand in creating, the collective, gestalt of what is created will be wonderful...and from the collage, there will sprout the beginnings of a very powerful sense of community.

stay tuned.

lord dragonspyre has been of enormous assistance in getting the grounds laid out in a graphic fashion.  i appreciate each and everyone one of you for being part of the renaissance experience.

cheers,

Hey all,

Regarding rengypsy's last post--- i have known the guy all my life, and YES- this is really happening.  Though I was anticipating the campfire council, I think the cold weather (and the realitively briarless grounds) will make a better experience for all.

I am compiling lists of those interested in performing with SFF. You can send me your info, resumes, interests, photos to crookfinger@gmail.com

Thanks for everyone's continued interest------AC
