I have an ornament that says "Lord, make me the person that my dog thinks I am". 'Bout sums it up, for me :)

If that were to happen to me, then I would be a DOG spelled backwards.

I too am a cat person, but lurvs me some pupper dog too. Maybe once I have a little space (for some serious fetch and frisbee)...

I loved Seinfeld's take on dogs...to paraphrase:

"They're ALWAYS happy to see you when you come home - they're absolutely amazed. ""It's that GUY! He's here AGAIN! *slaps forehead* He brought FOOD! AGAIN! Oh My God!!! How cool is this?!?""

Was that my Giovanni Anne?

Wow, I am really enjoying y'alls happy stories of your furkids.  Just got back from 3 days of dog showing and it's amazing to see animals so well loved!   :-*

Indeed, it was your Giovanni, Lady M.  He was so well-behaved and quite precious when I met him at GLMF.

I do believe the King was quite taken with him, as well  :)

Dogs  are special creatures.     I have  3  dogs,  along  with  3  cats,  and  two horses.  They were all rescued  from animal  shelters and everyone  of them   is  a part  of  the family.
If anyone on here is thinking of getting a pet  this  Christmas,  think about  adopting  one  from an animal shelter.  There are so many    dog  and  cats and  other animals  who need  homes,    and i  have  found  that  they  make  the  best  pets., for  they are so happy  to  have  someone  to  love  them,  and  care  for  them, and  give  them  a home.

I heartily second Lady Amy! They know they've been given a second chance to be loved, and return it a thousandfold. Shelters receive purebreds as well as mutts, although I'll take a mutt any day; they're the best of everything.  And who among us isn't a mutt, too?  ;)

Well.  My present dog, Beau, is a rescue.  And he's decidedly not grateful in the slightest.  But I love him anyway! :)

I loved the way the King walked up to the pub and literally ordered a water for the pup!   ;D

Groom-n

We love them all large and small. Unconditional love! I am a pet stylist by trade and get to play with everyone Else's pets and give them back.  All dogs and cats have there very own personalities. Grooming them is not quite as stressfull as showing them.
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.
