Fa Rah Rah Rah Rahhhh Rah Rah Rah Rahhhh!  :D

My sister & mom are basically snowed in in NYC and can't get tickets home until after Christmas.  So my BIL is going to join them and me & my son are celebrating alone.  As far as diinner, my DS said we could have a Chinese Christmas.  At which point I sang the above.  I admit to a certain amount of happiness when it's all over and done with; this year will be more so.  Meh.
Sveethot!

I think Chinese Christmas sounds like fun. When life gives you noodles, make chop suey!  ;D

For my family, we concentrate on having Christmas brunch now. I still get my ham  :), and family can come and go as they please without the pressure of a formal sit down dinner, where everyone pretends to get along.  :D Hard to have pretense over eggs and grits.

In the evening I plan to be sitting around a bonfire with friends, and a nice bottle of wine.

I've learned to make my own holiday in the way that works for me.  :)

As ever, just me and me, so....I dunno....a Lean Pocket? *shrug* Maybe I'll go 'all out' like I did for Thanksgiving and have some Campbell's Chunky Soup.

Well... if Sir Morgan isn't stuck in Nebraska due to the winter storm that they are calling for we'll be having a spiral sliced brown sugar ham, green bean casserole, garlic dill potatoes, steamed broccoli, cranberry sauce, buttered corn, and of course wheat rolls. For dessert we're having caramel apple pie  :D.... mmmmm..... and hopefully some of my homemade eggnog.
If he is stuck there we'll have it after he gets back.

The snowed-ins arrived last night around 7, so we had our usual Christmas eve dinner & presents.  Ham, turkey, green & red enchilada casseroles, dressing, potatoes from scratch, etc.
Sveethot!

Well, as a couple of the snowed-in... ours turned out to be chicken pot pies today, but there are leftovers waiting for us tomorrow, if we can get out of the parking lot, that is!!!  I will definitely be making a trip to the grocery store tomorrow, also!!!   LOL

Looks like vegetarian Shepherd's Pie, mashed taters, sweet taters, green bean cass, mac and cheese, brie, rolls, and wine... LOTS AND LOTS OF WINE. After a day of Wii and playing "princess", I'm in need of WINE!

Christmas Eve dinner at my house was a  pork loin topped with bacon slices and stuffed with cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, and glazed carrots.  Lots of cookies, and cheese, pepperoni and summer sausage snackage.

Two Christmas dinners:  early dinner at my parents-ham, scalloped potatoes, sweet potatoes, coleslaw and rolls. (I only nibbled to save room for the second dinner later.)

Dinner at aunts house with all the cousins and kids: crab cocktail, a cheese, proscuitto and olive platter, roasted peppers in garlic oil, mixed greens w/walnuts & feta, marinated and grilled pork loin and beef loin, brisket,  scalloped potatoes, mashed pot. &gravy, brocolli cheese casserole, succotash, and rolls. Followed by english trifle, various cookies, brownies, zucchini bread, chocolate peanut butter dessert, cheesecake.

Too  bad I couldn't eat ANY of the second dinner, 'cause as soon as I started sampling an appetizer, I was hit with the worst, most painful case of acid reflux I've ever had and couldn't eat anything!  Was in misery the rest of the evening! Serves me right for trying to have 2 dinners!
