It says "emet" which is the hebrew word for truth. In the Golem story, the Golem becomes a bit too powerful and to stop it, its creator erases the first letter, changing the word to "met", which is the hebrew word for dead.

Nice, indeed!  From the photo, that almost looks like Damascus steel, but the pattern is so perfectly repeating.

It is damascus, Devin Thomas ladder damascus.  The handle is ivory.

Once I can afford it got to send it to get a sheath.  Like most knife makers my leather working skills aren't as good as my knife meaking.  Unlike most my leather skills suck BIG time.
