Chat Log In

Is there something we need to do to access the Chatroom?  It said "You Can't Access The Chat" in red across the bottom.  I logged in to the main site and tried again and got the same thing.  Please advise.  Username is Nitestar.

I have the same problem with chat.  have a separate login but still get blocked.  Would like to be able to access chat, think it would be wonderful vs. posting to forums and waiting...

Do people really utilize chat on this board?

Still having problem.  Not sure what screen to use to access.  When I attempt from the forum screens, I get the "cannot access chat" message.  On the home screen, I cannot find a "chat button" and tried to get in the Meta Log-in.  Keeps coming up with bad username message.

I can get to the login now but it tells me: You can't access the chat.
I am using the same username and password as the forums, i even
logged out and back into the forums to verify i was using the correct
username/password.

Yesterday, once, the login screen let me in.  All past tries, and again today, it doesn't.  Read back to beginning of this thread, and also was going to try the directions there, but the page referred to doesn't even come up, so that was a bust.  Must be those evil terrorist Peeps again.  Huzzah!  Linda

It seems we need to create another login username password from the www.renaissancefestival.com main page,
i see nowhere on that page where i can register.

Hi,

If you could try it now I'd appreciate it. I found a setting change I didn't know about in the new version and the problem should be resolved. If you connect to chat after you've logged into the forum it will use your forum credentials. That is the only way authentication works for this chat system and guests can not currently use it. If you connect to the chat and later try again and get the chat login just go back to the forum and log out and back in and that should clear it up. There is a little bit of a disconnect between the logout of chat to return to the forum and being logged into the forum forever. When you click the logout to get out of the chat system and are set to stay logged in forever to the forum and go back to the chat system after the timeout (5 minutes) the chat system thinks you've logged out when you try to return. Please let me know if it is working now.
