Do you have any good sites to share concerning extant garbs? Meaning sites with pictures and eventual info? I come across various sites in Livejournal (friendlist) and online, but I forget to save them... I thought it could be nice to gather them all here.

One marvellous site is Bella's Realm of Venus. She has collected pictures of various Italian garbs from the Renaissance, and they can be seen here:

Another lovely site is Oonagh's:

The marvellous collection of the Uppsala Cathedral in Sweden (including the Sture clothes, Margrethe I's golden dress, plus lots of historical fabric samples and clerical garbs) can be seen in this English site:

Here are various Nordic garbs, with the Sture clothes (my site, a project I abandoned):

I've also posted various in my Livejournal:
http://operafantomet.livejournal.com/140322.html (Neapolitan/Aragon stuff)
http://operafantomet.livejournal.com/136119.html (A Norwegian Mantua)
http://operafantomet.livejournal.com/109247.html (A Danish Mantua)
http://operafantomet.livejournal.com/96131.html (The Sture clothes + various German Renaissance)
http://operafantomet.livejournal.com/124782.html (Various from the Urbino court)
http://operafantomet.livejournal.com/97296.html (Extant Renaissance fabrics)
http://operafantomet.livejournal.com/125860.html (Viking stuff)

But there are many, many more sites out there. Now, share them! Or be sure to post them here next time you run across some at the WWW. :D

Not the portrait part - but the COSTUME part of that site is perfect! Thanks a lot!
