When you die can you donate your body to pseudo-science?

Master James

To each their own but that is a little over the top for me.

Um, WOW

While again I have to say, more power to ya?? I personally would rather cut out my eye!
I am a professional in my real life, and that does not look like you could wear a light blouse and it not show through!
While it is grand to do such a gesture???? What happens when one is 40 and saggy? Or worse changes hobbies?!!

I could see a little thing tastefully done but ......while that is a nice tattoo.....it makes me shudder to think of the future.
My Mom works with Brides all the time you don't know how many come in tears because of something they had tat'd on their bodies 10-15 years before that will totally make the gown they want out of the question, unless they know a makeup artist to help...or take the time and money to get the things taken off.

But it is impressive the colors are glorious and it does make a statement. I guess I am more conservative....

LOL!

I was prepared to bet it was a photoshopped pix and then I thought I'd better do some research first, and so I found what appears to be the owner's blog.

Anyone interested can read it here.

While it's not something I'd do, I've got to give the girl credit!

Kahlan Rose

wow thats all that I can say. I have one tattoo  at this time, and not a lot of people can or have seen it. She has courage, and I think the colors are gorgeous!

GirlChris

As a friend of mine said upon seeing that picture "You'd thing a seamstress would choose something with a more flattering neckline!"

Really, if you can't even wear a spaghetti strap top and show it off...

WHOA! At first thought "photoshop" as well. And I thought I was obsessive about my hobbies. Though it's certainly not my thing, that's some nice work there. Love the colors, and those scissors are cool!

If it is real....I think it glorious.

LadyShadow

As I am both a fan of sewing and tattoos.  I have 6 tattoos of my own placed where I can still look nice for work.  But I dont think that I would ever tat that onto my skin.  But I have seen people make themselves a worse coloring paper than that, so I guess its not all that bad.

I am a big wus. No tatoos here and no desire to get one. All I can see when I look at her tat is...oh my and look at all that still needs to be filled in....ouch!!

Impressive work. Love the tape measure. That would have been enough for me.

Mythrin

My daughter is a theatrical make-up artist and told me that she has had to train, many, many, many people to cover their tats so they can get gainful employment.  I would think that one would sure influence a potential employer......

when one is old and saggy does it really matter what there tattoo looks like? your whole body looks bad at that point not just your tattoo. at least people will look at her and say "damn i bet she was fun when she was younger"

while not something i would get, i can respect any tattoo. they are supposed to be personal and have meaning to the wearer. at least she did not just pick something off the wall. the colors and details are great, the artist did a nice job.

Lady L

Yes, I sew, but I am with Anna on this...no tattoos for me and would never want one. My first reaction to this is EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
And 40 isn't "old" either. I am way past that age. Or maybe some people think I look old, but most don't.

I personally LOVE tattoos. I have 5, want more.
I love the colors, but that's not something I'd want...even if I was a SERIOUS seamstress.
I will say that the upper chest and collarbone areas are some of the more painful areas to have tattooed, so she must have REALLY wanted that...plus that cost some major money!

Looks like she's had more done to it...

It really is a gorgeous tattoo, if just a "tad" over the top.  It would look way better on her back (does anyone else think the sewing machine looks like it's choking her?), but then she wouldn't be able to see it as easily.

Nice artwork but I agree with TigerLily about the location.

Chacun a son goute.  The colors & artwork are beautiful, but the placement wouldn't be to my taste.  I love my tats & didn't get one until my mid 40's & haven't had one moment of regret.

Adriana Rose

That is some really nice ink!

The place is where I would not put it but hey thats where she wanted it!

I wanna get a skull and bones with some sicssors and some roses because I do work with flowers and I love to sew.. but thats me I like tattoos and I have a few myself

I read an interview with Brian Setzer (formerly of the "Stray Cats") and he said the best tattoo advice he  ever got was to never get one that can't be covered up by long sleeves if you have to go to court.
When you die can you donate your body to pseudo-science?

LadyShadow

I agree.  But for more than just having to go to court.  Just looking nice at times as well.

true true...

you just have to admire the look of the art... but thats just me

LadyShadow

So wonderfully put.  I cant wait to see the one you are wanting to get.  It sounds wonderful.

The tattoo I love the best is the celtic knot of motherhood and a circle for each of my kids.

;)I too like the tattoo and the colors are awesome. But I do agree the placement is odd.
I do not have one but want one. I just need to screw up my courage. LOL  ::)

she's so little I doubt she could have found another "canvas" large enough to accomodate that much design, but I think I would have sized it down a bit and put it on my back or something, just for the fact that it looks awkward there, it's just a bit tooo big.

Nice slam to older women.

While, I think I am at least 20 years older than the lady in the photograph...and I can say I still look slamming.  I do in fact take care of my body and I do in fact think most of my friends also in my age range do as well.  I asked my mother who would be 40 years older than this young lady and she took your words as an insult to older women.  So I place a quote from my Mother who took it from George Bernard Shaw "Youth is wasted on the young".

I have my opinion and you have yours, I wish you could have expressed it without insulting generations of women. But that again is your choice.

at no point did i mention the sex of the person wearing the tattoo. i mean all people in general. you took my comment the wrong way.

i have tattoo sleeves and a stomach tattoo. when asked what is going to happen when im old and they look bad? i answer "when i am old i will look bad, not just my tattoos."
