Hi, we are having just a splash of medieval/renaissance things at our wedding.
1. Our symbol (like a monogram) is our family crest.
2. wrought iron candelabras and decor
3. drinking goblets

but we are not "over doing" the theme. We are looking for a few performers for the cocktail hour.
Are there 2 people who have the horns (little flags hanging down) that do the entrance sounds for when we enter the reception?
Are there any ideas or offeres for performances.

Wedding is in Greenboro, NC on April 18, 2009.

It may be hard to find many people that play fanfare trumpets.  Here is a site in Florida http://www.marksbands.com/majesticfanfare.htm

If you can't find someone that plays go to your local music store and rent two fanfare trumpets.  Make the flags yourself.  Have two people dress up for the part and stand at the entrance.  If your reception hall has a sound system play the music over the speakers, otherwise use a stereo from home.  Should sound close enough and everyone will be impressed regardless!  ;D

I had a trumpeter play the opening from CBS Sunday Morning for my ceremony entrance.  ::)  http://www.televisiontunes.com/CBS_Sunday_Morning.html

I also had a harp and violin at my reception.  My mom is a high school band director and they were her students.  They did an excellent job, especially for high school!  Don't count out student (high school/college) musicians just because they are students!  ;)

If you want some humor I might suggest a street performer (juggles, mime, simple tricks, etc.).  Someone that can interact with the crowd and all of his tools he carries on him.  I'm sure you can request a ren costume or provide it.

Good Luck and have fun!!!
