So, I'm planning to wear one of my store bought non rennie bodices that I have worn as a ren bodice to my college's homecoming this week, but I put it on recently, and apparently my puppies have gotten a little fluffier than they were when I bought it... I think I could probably get them to stay contained with tape, but I don't know what kind.

What kind of tape is best for taping fabric to skin? Masking tape?

I, personally wouldn't use masking tape.  If anything, I'd suggest looking into some kind of surgical tape that's meant to be used on skin.  I don't think the oils on your skin would dance well with masking tape and there's also the potential for an allergic reaction to the glue as well.

There's also a "braza bra" that may work for you.  Do a search and you'll find sites that sell them.  We used to sell them at a store that I worked at while in college.  Even though they're meant for a range of sizes, the ladies that had the best success with them were those who had less flesh on the sides of their pups (not cup size per se) that could give the adhesive something firm to attach to which would then help support the weight of the breast without sagging.

Or you could go with a minimizer bra.

If you're looking for tape, a double sided fashion tape like this would work:  http://www.hollywoodfashiontape.com/products_tape.cfm

surgical tape might work... and I can get that at the grocery store across the street... hmm... lol, I don't think the braza bra would work.. lol cup size is majorly part of the issue.

You can find the fashion tape that Taffy mentions at fabric stores like JoAnns.

There is double sided garment tape that helps hold the fabric on to your skin... think that green dress jlo wore forever ago that thing was a walking ad for garment tape! Try your local lengrie shops they might have it there or if all that fails try Victorias Secret or Fredricks of hollywood

hope thats what you are talking about

Lady Nicolette

Be sure to give it a test drive.  I've tried various ones out at home and they never work for me...You'd hate to have a Janet Jackson moment.

i highly recommend the tape that they sell at sally's beauty supplies that is meant to hold wigs onto your head.
Its specifically made to hold fabric on skin.
I've used it on all kinds of fabrics directly stuck to my chest and have never had a problem

Alright, Don't kill me when I suggest this as it is a painful to remove solution.  Most every model has done it, and I have applied to many breast in my time of dressing.  Duck tape.  It really does hold anything and everything.  It can remove hair from the breast area.  The trick to making the tape bra is to start on one side as high as the breast tissue starts.  The go under each breast to the other side.  Not in one solid piece, but multi small pieces.  Keep going from one side to the other, concentrating on the sides and side bottom till you get the look or compression you want.  DO NOT GO ON TOP of the Nipple!!!!  It will look like a U shape when you layer enough.  It can also give you great support and cleavage.

Like adhesive spray, it is one of the nasty modeling tricks.

Just be careful when using Duct Tape, It can cause burning.  I know a few drag queens that use it to create the allusion.  And when it came off, they had very red skin. If you are sensitive you may cause real harm to yourself.

Just a warning.  ;)

You might try a small patch of different type of tapes to test for sensitivy.  You don't want to ruin your occasion w/a rash.

so... I tried fashion tape and medical tape... neither worked very well... I think there's just toooo much to cover right now... I'm going to try it with a strapless bra and tape next, I didn't want to because I think it looks crappy under the laces... even if it is fleshtoned...

Try a roll on body adhesive.  My daughter uses it to secure her socks at dance competitions.  You apply it to the skin and fabric, let it get a little tacky, and then press into place.  It does wash off with warm water.

Be careful on the surgical tape.  I have seen some nasty reactions from those that are allergic to the silk variety.

gypsylakat

I'm allergic to something in my environment, but I don't know what it is, but it's  not surgical tape, I was sure to get one that I had used before for an injury

Cormac, where does your daughter get the roll-on adhesive? Gotta try that myself!

My daughter uses it for Irish Dance competition.  Here is a link to one of the vendors:

If you apply a lite coat to the garment and the skin and let it get a bit tacky it holds really good, but not so much it will take your hide off when you remove the garment.  Washes up with warm, soapy water.  No stains that I have noticed on the white dance socks.

so i jerry rigged my top with some ribbon, and tape, still pretty revealing, but no more than faire... all good

I can vouch for the sock glue. It works wondermously through vigorous dancing, shoe changes, all of that. Big thumbs up from me.

OK gypsy.... we all know my take on this one...

PASTIES!!! Forget trying to hide the puppies, simply DECORATE them! That way, in case you have a "nip slip", you won't be obscene.

And really, who doesn't want huge sparkly butterflies or bright red flames or red shimmery stars decorating their chests?

Just a side note.  I did read somewhere WD-40 removes duct tape.
