Ask LJ about the ... can't remember, it was green so either watermelon or green apple ... either way, it's just as good.

Aye - t'was the sour apple that I gave LJ, an' kicked in a bottle o' watermelon t' boot! So...both were "in play" so t' speak - along with th' cinnamon.

The only out-an'-out failure was th' blue raspberry from th' bulk pack. I had hopes fer a Romulan Ale ... but, alas 'twas quite gnarly.  :P

Every single bit is true... my favourite thing about being here in the BARF area... is that we certainly are a warm and close fairemily.

Molden, you scheming scallywag... what o'er forms of debaucherous decanters did ye not tell us ye tried?
At the very least.. maybe we can help ye experiment and find the perfect recipe?

Not a shabby guess My Queen!  ;)

Actually, t' make Escarlata's favorite flavor (Cinnamon) - it takes 3 full bags of Cinnamon Fire Jolly Ranchers in 1.75 liters of Tito's Vodka. Hence - from "Yes Sir, Yes Sir 3 bags full..." y' werkses in reverse t' "Baa-Baa black sheep 'ave ye any wool?" ...

When I introduced it, I dispensed it in 1 pint bottles. I gave th' first t' my then girlyfriend along with another friend t' sample. I turned around a few moments later - they drank all but a few swigs. I took back the bottle an' advised 'em t' sit down before the fell down... It tasted like candy t' 'em - however, they failed t' take int' account tha' they'd swigged nearly a pint of vodka atwixt th' both o' 'em w'in but a few minutes!  :o

OWWWW!

Aye, it's buggerin' good stuff!!   But the fun starts with the party what makes the Baa Baa.   In the Original Molden Cantos, various other disreputables were to be invited.  It takes a lot of work, ya know, unwrapping Jolly Ranchers and then dropping them in a bottle.  And then there's this problem of displacement...all that vodka has to go somewhere.. ;)

It's fun from start to finish! :D

Does it have to be Tito's Vodka? I tried it with Smirnoff's and it didn't taste the same.

Mmm...I am thinking of Baa-Baa for TNRF.
It dissolves pretty fast and is ready to drink right then and there, yes?

LOL...I wouldn't think it could get any mellower with age like Loki.

Does it have to be ranchers? Can you make it with any kind of hardcandy..I'm thinking mint or butterrum. :)

Seamus Ex Machina

Molden was fairly adamant on this.   So was Shanalee, who quite defined the term adamant. ;D   Tito's Vodka and Jolly Ranchers.  Accept no substitutes.   The flavor profiles aren't there.  And who wants this stuff any 'mellower', anyway.....?   The girls knocked it back like it was Kool-Aid!

OK, got it!
Tito's and Jolly Ranchers. No Smirnoffs and Skittles.

No wonder it tasted different.

Ooops! Off topic!

Ooops! Off topic! Off topic! Back to Weekend Tea.

*alarm goes off*

Well praise the Lord. A new (self moderating) WW has arisin!! Hallelula!!!!! *Angels singing here*

Kidding WW...kidding.

In my opinion some threads can wander and it's no big deal, while some, like pictures from our faire, should be dedicated to that. Not pics from everywhere else. A good conversation will take on a direction of it's own and I am in no way trying to stifle *anyone* Period. I am though trying to keep thing tidy, so that anyone who wants to search out particular information can find it. Again, I am no in any way trying to stop the fun. I hope our "family" will always be happy and feel free to drop in here for a chat about *whatever* Just start a new topic if you think you are going to be seriously hijacking someone elses. Otherwise it's no big deal.

But I defer to the moderator on this one. Just forgot where I was.  ;)

WW, it's not a matter of defering. I don't see myself as some "voice of authority".  Truthfully I'm still trying to figure out what would work best for our particular group. I'm not trying to smack anyone down. Just trying to find a good balance that works for *everyone* who comes here, including those who don't post, but read along looking for information. I'm always open to helful suggestions. Contact via Ren Mail anytime. No arguments please, but helpful input. This is *our* forum after all, not just *mine*.

Now please, let's get back to...beverages.

One brief wander off and on topic...I think...me compass n' brain operates much like me skiff...scuttled rudder, tangled riggins an' all...  ;)

WW - you hit th' point exact-a-mundo on why Tito's over Smirnoff an' others. For verification - do a taste test with Tito's vs. the others. It doesn't have the typical vodka taste (an' after taste). It's very smoooooth, so ALL you taste is the jolly rancher an' not the vodka. Hence th' ability to go down so well...and dangerously.

An - Aye...th' jolly ranchers disolve fairly quickly. Shakin' th' bottle 'elps expedite th' situation. Once dissolved, she's ready t' drink - requires no aging.

Again - 'tis 3 bags (~33 pieces per bag on average) t' 1.75 liter o' Tito's. Pour it off t' th' top o' the label (make a coupla nice screwin' drivers or bloody marys) to make room fer th' jolly ranchers. Add about 2 1/2 bags, dissolve, sample some t' "taste test" an' t' makeses moar room fer th' rest o' the candy. Ok - so it's not exactly 1.75 liters t' 3 bags o' jr - but there be sompthin' in th' alchemy o' the deal where the partakin' o' spirits makeses th' batch turn out so good.

An' nows I retarn ye t' yer previous intellectual discourse.  :D

Intellectual Discourse?

Uh... the motto for the Queen's Tea is:

"What happens at Queen's Tea..."

methinks that doesn't finish with "is an intellectual discourse"

I'm not a Moderator, but I play one on TV...
and I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express once...

I say let's keep the fun flowing!

Anyone have a favourite moment from Her Majesty's Tea this season that you'd like to share?
