*Shh*
Someone give me a renaissance era word or phrase, and let's see if I can work into the Opening Day Speech from the Parapet. ;) It'll be my way of saying, "Hey you guys!"

"A special greeting to those traveling from the far away land of quartz and webs"

or even better

*"The Rum Is Free All Weekend" makes for a great opening line*

I second Teach's "The Rum is free..." idea!   ;D

Good thinking Teach ;)

I say the word should be either quixotic or phantasmagoric.

just becuase it'd be interesting to see how you'd work them into a speech. (:

To thou beest born to strange sights, and things invisible to see I give special welcome this day.

It a parephase from a John Donne poem published in 1633.
Beware of him that is slow to anger: He is angry for something, and will not be pleased for nothing.

"Humanism"! My vote is for "humanism"! OK, um, maybe not. :)

Hmm. "Unfold your thoughts, my lord," and maybe help us remember that although "to a wise man, all the world's his soil," we always come home to Faire!

Yeah, that was really reaching. I will leave the phrasing to better minds than mine. Maybe my humours aren't in the right balance! Good luck! I will be there, listening for the "Ren-lectric Company" shout out!  ;D

Kudos to midnightferret for recognising the source of the quote!
