Absolutely Smashing!!!  Well Done, and just between the two of us, and everyone else on the board, I don't think very many people look good in that sort of gown (the first one I mean), whereas I would gladly travel to you and rip the redo off your back (except that I'd be left with the question of what to cover the Left side of my body with LOL)

I agree, some projects don't turn out right (like... at all), but they're still too good to give up - maybe fabric wise, or the basic construction. Your re-do of this dress is a brilliant example! I love the result.
