Anyone know of where large gals can purchase dress large size forms to match?

I have a My Double Dress form that I special ordered from Hancock Fabrics 5 years ago. Mine can be adjusted from a size 14 to 20.  I know they come larger. Do check your local store for more details.

Also, if you have someone capable enough to wrap you, wearing a crummt T-shirt you don't mind ctutting up the back,  in Duct Tape for a Double, that could work too.

But a Dress form would be easier. Hopwe this helps.

I can say that if you make a Paper Tape Dummy it will be JUST like you, and it is inexpensive so you can have one that is your Corseted Size as well as your regular size.

Just a thought it is about $20.00 worth of paper tape, a hair dryer and time.

You can also do the same with a Duct Tape Double, and there are some made from Papier Mache

Another option if you can find one is a caged dress form.  Basically its a wire cage that buttons down the middle front and back.  You put it on and someone squeezes the wires into a tight fit all the way down.  Then you unbutton, take it off, button it back up, put in the supports and hang it on the stand.  Not only do you get a duplicate of you, you can also adjust it so its your height!  You can do your own hemming!  Try looking on e-Bay as several people I know have found them there.

Rumba, I have three dress forms to cover all ranges of sizes.  My larges goes up to a 54" bust measurement.  Each form I have was made by different companies, and of the three, my favorite is the one with the dial adjustments (as opposed to the wheel adjustment).  I've found that the ones with the wheels tend to lose the "thread" on the wheels and after a year or two, no longer adjust as well as the dial forms.

I bought all of mine on eBay and stalked auctions until I found them at a decent price.

This is the same brand as the one I like best - and while this is a good price, I noticed that this model is broken.

If you're looking to save $$, go with the duct tape dress form.  It's inexpensive, and it'll serve as your body double.  You can't really go wrong!   ;)

I'm your very merry seamstress.  How may I help you?

Rumba,

Check antique stores, too.. I bought an old broken dress form for $40, and I bolted it together, then I wrapped it in quilt batting and duct tape, continuallly measuring till it was padded exactly like me (hee hee).  I have to say, I wasn't pleased with the way she looked when I was done (do I really look like that???).. But it saved me money, it's already on a stable base, and I am very pleased with her.

Then I named her AnneBoleyn, since she is minus her head.. :D

Found a link on making one out of water activated packing tape, doesn't ruin your scissors, and there's a video!

We did the T-shirt and duct tape trick to make ours. They seem to work just fine, are easy to make, cheap and kind of fun...  ;D

I bought mine from eBay - a Twinfit w/o a stand - for about 1/3 of their regular price. Then I made a stand out of PVC.  Her name is Dolly.  Check Joann's online.  They're usually $229, but you might get a coupon for 40% off on the home page.

I have several Adjustaforms.  The biggest goes up to about 54" bust.  I like it.

I have the larger size dress dummy it is pretty new, I would sell it to you?  I think it goes up to in inches to a 59 all over and neck size 19, but I will come back later and tell you the actual sizing if you want.

If you want it I can ship it to you! $80.00 plus shipping, we can do paypal if you want
