The new Star Trek movie comes out soon!  May 7th.
I'm wondering if anybody is interested in braving the crowds May 8th or 9th to go see it at the IMAX in St. Michael.  They have a bar!  You can bring the drinks in! Not to mention it's Star Trek on a super huge awesome screen.
The place was packed the night Dark Knight came out, but we still had a blast.  I think Scottish festival is on the 9th so that date may not be so good.  It's the only weekend I saved off in May. Either way I think I'll be heading out to see it.
Yay Star Trek!

What ever you do, when you are up at the bar. Don't hang around there and get let in ahead of everybody else :)

It doesn't appear their Imax theater is open or going to be used for Star Trek.

I just looked it up, and I'm seeing a full schedule.

The Imax part looks like it is sealed. Their website doesn't list any Imax movies.

So I just called and asked if they'd be having Star Trek on their Imax screen and a lady told me for right now they'll just have it on the regular screen.

Ahhhhh, I see.  Here I thought you were saying they weren't showing Star Trek period.

Soooo...   I don't know who's all going for this.  But if people wanted to come a little further Monticello has a Monster screen that is larger than the Imax screen.  My friend works there and they're doing kinda non-advertised early showings Thurs. at 7pm and 10 pm.  and of coarse they'll have the midnight ones.  So for those of you who don't want to be dead for work tomorro...  the 7:00'er might be a good choice.  I'll ask my friend if that showing will be monster screen and post back about it!

Due to a family emergency, I've had to reschedule my plans.  Thanks for not posting spoilers, everyone!

Hope all is well Jack.

Who would have thought Spock was indeed Kirks half-brother...never saw that one coming.

Went and saw the movie yesterday.  I liked it! I don't remember too much from the old Star Treks so watched more or less as it's own apart from everything. I hate when movies use ... oh wait, no spoilers. Anyways other than one annoyance lol, I liked the young Kirk and Spock and Scotty :D  I hope they make another one with these actors.

Lord Figaro

From my understanding that was the plan Leyla. I heard in an interview with Leonard Nemoy that Gene Roddenberry had always wanted to continue the origional trek but to past that torch to younger actors who could continue the story.

The Las Vegas Strip.  The town that never sleeps.  Hundreds of shows.  Tens of thousands of slot machines.  Millions of rhinestones that cover practically nothing.  What did we do yesterday, apart from a few things we won't discuss here?  We went and saw Star Trek at a tacky little theatre at the south end of the strip!  LOL

Loved it!  Great one liners.  Lots of memories from the series.  Couple of "bother, why did they do that", moments.  Otherwise, I loved it.  Especially that part...  oh wait.  Sorry Jack.   :-*

Saw ST on Saturday evening...absolutely LOVED it!   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Brandi is making me wait to see it. She says we'll go to a casino that has a theater and we'll use our free tickets when they will let us use them for the movie. SIGH, but I don't WANNA WAIT. To me that's just another way of saying "yeah sure we'll do that", and then POOF it never happens.
