Willa I already talked to wildthingjew about discount tickets. I ordered some from her for us.

You are a doll! Thanks to you and wildthingjew

Will there be 3 Ettes or Ettes in Training there opening weekend?  Me, Sarvia, and I think Willa Swallow?  Am I correct?  Are there more?  If there's at least 3, then it's an Ette invasion.

It's getting close now.  Oh how I wish we lived closer so that we could visit Bristol more than once a year.  I look forward to hearing stories and seeing pictures from you all after opening.

Please tell me the weather is going to be nice!  I'm melting here in Louisiana!

Lady Renee Buchanan

We live in Western IL, about 3 hours from Bristol.  Today it's sunny, and the high will be 86 degrees.  Bristol in July can be comfortable, hot but doable, or blistering, sweltering with the medical staff not having enough room to put everyone who's been dropped by the heat.

But if you are from the south, you probably either will be used to this kind of temp, and you won't think it's too hot the way the rest of us do!

Yeah here in N.W. Arkansas too Willa. Bristol CAN be THICK with humidity. The mutant mosquitoes are worse up there. lol
I agree with Ladye Renee it can be Very comfortable. There's almost always some kind of breezy, there are several areas with Misters to cool off at, and plenty of Shade .
I wish I could hitch a ride with you but money's a bit tight for me.  :(

We are hoping to make the weekend of Aug 29 & 30 if all goes well.  We have friends from Janesville and Joliet that are supposed to go with us.  Should be a great time.

Please be aware that for the small fee of $5 you can be a guest in the Friends of Faire garden for the weekend, and have access to all the cold water and gatorade you want, as well as a place to stow your stuff and watch the world go by.

I'll be working at Medieval Metal again this year in the afternoons, and the rest of the time I'll be out and about with my new little rogueling, Beckett!  Keep your eyes open for a cute little blond 8 month-old in garb; I'll be the one toting him around (unless he is with his dad!)  MAN I can't wait!!

Goody

Lady Renee, wil you be setting us up with a meet n greet at the pub?

Since I have set up the Meet & Greets in years past, I am happy to do so again.  If anyone else wants to arrange it, that will be fine with me, too.  I don't mind passing the hat to someone else, it's just that no one else has ever wanted to do it.  But if you want to now, just let me know.

Having said that, if I still end up arranging them, I would like to try a different tactic to see if we can get more members to show up.  I thought it might be a good idea to see when the weekend schedule has been posted, then try to find a time that isn't in the middle of a show that most people want to see.  So, instead of saying, we meet by the Pub on both days at such and such a time, it might be a different time, depending on what the show schedule is.  And maybe meet at a different pub, just before a show, which will give everyone enough time to meet, take pictures, and then those who want to can sit down to the show as a group.

So we'll see what happens with all this.  But if anyone has a better idea or wants to arrange it, let me know!   ;D
