Description of Your Faire:
Tis a fine summer's day in 1545. You have entered the town of Cornwall, England, a village filled with folk of wisdom and wit. The town is home to Lord Marrok Stanbrough, heir to the House of Stanbury, who has just returned from from his travels. The townsfolk invite you to share their excitement, as they prepare for a festival honoring the return of Lord Stanbrough, and a visit from His Majesty, King Henry VIII.

In anticipation of Lord Marrok's return to Cornwall, and his presentation of the many wonders he has accumulated on his travels to the far reaches of the known world, King Henry VIII has proclaimed two days of feasting and celebration. Lord Marrok brings with him performers and peddlers, Gypsies from dark Romany, musicians and merrimakers, from as near as Scotland and as far away as the mysterious Island of Nippon! The citizenry of Cornwall has never seen such pageantry, and are beside themselves in preparation for the day!

With compelling style, Lord Marrok presents his audiences with stories of his travels, showing them glimpses into a civilization little dreamt about back in merry olde England. Witness the sounding of the giant drums of Nippon, and the playing of the bamboo flute.
Observe the prowess of the Akita, or bear-hunting dogs of the Samurai. Enjoy the spectacle of the armored warriors of the East, demonstrating their skills with the curved beheading swords of war. Finally, thrill to the showdown of East versus West as Marrok, himself, fights with the foreign warrior in a match to determine which culture is the finer.

All these wonders, and more await you at the Festival! Thrill to the romance as King Henry VIII performs the handfasting and wedding bans of a young couple. Join us for a day of royal, rollicking fun in Cornwall as you watch the drama unfold in this timeless tale of romance and intrigue, love and honor.
