I'd go with a doublet and breeches, all in black, since that seems to be what he thinks is cool (you said he wears suits--like business suits, for mundane wear?).  Since that's a lot of dark color to be wearing in the hot Georgia sun, make sure you go with natural fibers (like linen).  Removable sleeves and a black linen shirt (although not historically accurate) would also be cool.

Well, when he's just hanging out, he's a jeans & t-shirt kind of person, but when he's dressed up, he does all black suits and such like that.  So, he wants to look cool basically, lol.

Tudor Shoppe offers garb sets, if you wanted to have him look and see what he'd like best.

Man, I'm having so much fun with this! I wish I could convince MY teenage boy to dress up for faire (you know, without fear of him starting fights with anyone who looks at me in the pub -_-)

I haven't read all the replies but I'm sure somebody already suggested a pirate outfit. They are crazy popular at our home faire, MIRF.

Every time I see 'pirate' on this forum, I get a mental image of the old cover pic from Georgette Hayer's Elizabethan era novel, Beauvallet!  He was a privateer...

I know it's to late to order or maybe not. They do have next day.
He may like something from the Tudors. This website has some great items. I have ordered from them before and they were very prompt. I ordered the Locksly boots and they are not bad. I am waering them in my avatar.  Just a suggestion.  ;)
