This project?  http://www.diceyhome.free-online.co.uk/KatePages/Costuming/Creating-a-Court-Gown/creating_a_court_gown.htm

I have found a home for it...

Just over a week ago, on the Bank Holiday weekend, I went to visit Ightham Mote again.  While there, I got to see a costume they had, made as a copy of the red portrait of Dame Dorothy Selby, and used in their classroom...  It isn't very good.

Well, the construction is fine, but the techniques are all off.  All the little puffs on the sleeves are made by applique-ing stuffed bits of fabric rather than pulling lining/inner sleeve through slits made either by pinking the outer sleeve or by making it a paned sleeve.  Oh, well...  They are going to take my red sari dress as an addition.  I thought I might also make a couple of things from the patterns Gem found on the Royal Palaces website for them, for kids to dress up in.  Good advertizing, if nothing else...  And It'll give me a chance to ask about better pix of the two Dame Dorothy portraits for better copies of the gowns.

I remember stumbling across your website either shortly before or shortly after I joined this forum and reading your sewing posts.  I think you were still working on that dress at the time--or maybe just in the process of uploading the pages to your website.

Then when I realized you & "she" were the same person, I thought, "COOL!".  What's even COOLER, though, is your news.  CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I just checked out the manor's website (I LOOOOVE that moat!) and it seems quite the place.  I'm sure you'll get lots of exposure there.  Do they have any recreations a la Kentwell?

Again, CONGRATS!!!

No, not like Kentwell, but I hope to complete the project with a picture or two of me swanning about in that frock in the house and grounds!   ;D ;D

Oh, how exciting!!  I'd love to be good enough someone wanted to put my work on display!  Huzzah, Kate!!

Is the gown complete?  I don't remember seeing the entire thing made up.

No, I got distracted by other things!  Principally customer projects.  I will complete it, bit I may have to put the whole project diary somewhere other than the web site - which is stuffed!
