I don't know that any "Crossover" invasions are new.  We've been invaded by the 501st (Star wars), the Holodeck Crew (Star Trek),  the fey (The Seelie and Unseelie courts).  Many moons ago, Dan Bates (RIP) used to show up at Scarborough as HG Wells.  Tails, topper, cravat and all.

I've always kind of like the idea of combining Victorian/steamy technology and the occult, and I recently ran across an example of the nuttiness used to make homeopathic "medicines". -People focusing the light from various planets through a telescope on to milk sugar powder which is then diluted and added to sugar pills. Anyway, since it is an example of combining a scientific tool, a telescope, with basically a magical usage I thought it might be inspiration for similar ideas to combine technology and magic in a steam punk world.

We dressed up and went across town to have dinner with friends.  I wore the one point oh version of my dress.  Needs some work.  Didn't get the cage-hat done, but did another one instead.

It couldn't have been a more wonderful invasion. It was so nice to meet some of the contributors to this thread.  Everyone was absolutely wonderful and the details were wonderful to explore.  Thanks to all who went out of their way to make this a terrific event!  Thanks go out to Rani for my wonderful favor & time traveler's journal!
