Both the tablecloth and the dress are lovely.  I saw that dress on ebay but I had already purchased mine from recollections.  I hope I get to see you in it!

So far, I have my husbands ensemble pretty put together, I ordered a suit from Dapperlads for the baby (which he will probably also wear to a wedding later this summer).  By going to second hand stores, I put together a sky pirate outfit for my daughter.  And yesterday, I got the stuff I ordered for making my goggles, so I'm working on those and possible making a hat for myself.

I wouldn't dream of cutting into the tablecloth if it were heirloom quality! I has a stain in the middle of the linen part so I feel like I would be giving it new life. :)

Fortunately, I won't need to purchase anything for my daughter since her renfaire "pirate" tops and skirts will work just as well for Steampunk with a few of my accessories. I'm not going to push DH & DD to participate in the convention if they don't want to but I let them know that I do want them to join me for the day that the convention goers visit Greenfield Village.

Oh I figured this was not something salvagable.  :)  Can't wait to see the finished piece!

That dapperlads site is too cute!
Why be mundane when you can be a Rennie?!

I got outbid on the tablecloth I posted previously but I was able to find another (not quite as wide and beautiful of a border but still nice) and I picked up several other things from ebay, the thrift shop, and Marshalls. Once the last few purchases are delivered I plan to have an afternoon of dress-up and pictures! :D

Well, shoot, I'm sorry you got outbid (which is why I don't post anything until after the auction - it wasn't me!).  Pictures, yay!

I'm still awaiting delivery of the bra so I can add embellishments but the skirts are here!

white Victorian petticoat from cattery2000 on ebay
black skirt from Moresca
vintage tablecloth found on ebay (I was going to cut it to make it into a skirt but I just couldn't bring myself to cut into it and decided to just wrap it and secure with the belt)
belt from JCPenney- Should I add some pearl and/or chain drapes or just leave as is?

I think to make it read more as a bellydancer you should probably have some stands of pearls and chains draping from it...i think it would be awesome if you found a way to attach little cogs and gears and such to the chain instead of the little coins that usually are used
Things are shaping up to be...
Pretty. Odd.

Bonny Pearl

oh yes cogs and gears instead of coins would look great!  maybe some fringe hanging from underneath the lace.

lookin' great!  :)

MInus the corset this is what I have going.

Ok the second picture isn't great but I hope it gets you the idea of the look.

The brown skirt is a thift store find for 2.00 that I plan on modifying only slightly, mainly I plan on getting some more victorian styled buttons and just change them out.

The black skirt is another thrift store find and its kinda hard to tell but its an aysemmetrical a-line skirt with ruffles, I'll have to get better pictures later, and I forgot to wear my granny boots with it, but it looks good with those boots IMO.

This is kind of a weird west/libriarian look I think especially considering the riding skirt, now to accesorise.
The mind is like a parachute, its best when open.

Dustpunk!!!  Awesome look, Phoenix!!!  Sealion, I love the crochet look, that's gorgeous!  I bet it would take a dye or tea stain really well, although it's lovely exactly the way it is, as well!
