Gaaaahhhh!!!  I'm so Freakin' excited I can hardly sit still!!!  I just got my goggles and other goodies in the mail, and they RAWK!!!  The black paint on the brass eye pieces flakes off easily, and I could scratch it off with my fingernail if I had the patience, but the brass brush will work soooo much faster...  LOL  They also have a ribbon tie instead of elastic, and they eye pieces are rimmed with black velvet.  Niiice...  The tin they came in is waaaay cool, also, and I'm envisioning using it for something special, as well!!!  

Ok, got my motivation back after a rather bleh start to the morning, so I need to get my Spark on!

Ok, I thought I was excited before, but now I'm positively MANIC!!!  Gaaahhhh!!!  I just bought my corsets, and now all I have to do is figure out how I'm actually gonna be able to withstand the 4-6 week wait while they're being custom made to my measurements!!!  Under $300 for the both of them, including shipping and insurance, and I'm grinnin' so big my face is starting to ache!!!  ROFL 

I've been trying to access photobucket so I can load pics of them, but it keeps timing me out, so I'll have to post them sometime tomorrow, but I promise I'll get them up here, along with pics of the goggles!  Oh, did I mention I also got lots of cool stuff for favor making for SP Invasion day?!?    Those will be a surprise, though...

I'm still waiting on my corset to be made so I'm throwing something together for the Abney Park concert on Friday night. Mom and I found a black short skirt that is gathered to the side which I pulled on over another skirt I had and ta-da, it looks kind of bustled and all cool and I looooove it. I took the other shirt I found at the garage sale and sliced open the front so I could have cleavage and be all sexy-fied. Just need to sew that.

My Mom got me another pair of goggles that I spray painted the sides a copperish color so I would at least have goggles.
I have black boots, I just need to find some jewelry and taa-daaaa, Megs thrown-together Steampunk outfit will be complete!

Oooo! Yay for Spunkers from Florida! We'll be quite the unruly group! Once it starts getting a little bit closer, we'll have to plan a meet n' greet somewhere earlier on in the day before the regular RF Meet n' Greet so we can take a Spunker Invasion group photo.

I've been wanting some really nice leather for ages now, and I'm just not sure how I'm gonna keep from exploding while I wait for these to get here!!!      Don't have pics of the goggles yet, because I haven't had the time to dig out my Dremel yet, but I will in the next few days!

Elo, it sounds like you've been hard at work getting ready for the concert, and I expect lots of pics, of you, and your crew, understand?!?  LOL  I'm sure you're going to look wonderful, and remember, S'Punk was really born out of the recycle, re-structure and re-purpose movement, so the more... cobbled together... something looks, the more in character it will seem, I think!  That's why I wanted most of my things to come from the thrift stores and yard sales...  So get your S'Punk on, and show us your Spark, girly!!!

Rani, I've been looking at that same vendor!  They do have some gorgeous leather.  Let me know what you think of their items - grommets, hardware, boning, etc. - when they come in.

I'll do that Taffy, but it says they can take 4-6 weeks for delivery, you know, so you wouldn't want to wait too very long if you're wanting to order something for All Hallows!

I do know that they've got an excellent feedback rating, and they advertise to Rennies, also, so they must be pretty good!

I actually have purchased from them  love their quality! Only one problem I had is the   bust runs large and I am not small but I can still wear it . Great products  you will not be dissatisfied

Well, good thing I gave them a bit smaller measurement than I currently have...  LOL  I had to, though, because at the rate I'm still losing weight it wouldn't fit me in 4-6 weeks when it finally gets here!!!

Oh, and the bust running large shouldn't be a problem anyway, since it's being made to measurements I specified, and not a standard ready made size, which they also carry.

So the Abney Park concert last night was really good! They're a band, in my opinion, I like seeing live over just listening to their music. Definitely something to dance to and the band is funny as hell! Definitely entertaining!

I'll have photos up soon. Feeling the spark again after being around so many steam punk folks. There were people out in all the finery and much much to look and brainstorm and play with outfit options
