This is a work in progress Air Kraken hunter setup.

The boots and pants are thrift store finds, the belt is from Target, and the shirt is Russian military surplus.

To be added at a later date, the goggles which I ordered this morning, my kepi with lettering and badge, a jacket, a weapon, and holster for holding the ammo for said gun. As well as various small accesories that I hav't decided on yet.

Tell me about it. Now if I can find a jacket that fits over my shoulders, that I like*sigh*. Love the one that was posted earlier from Target but the way I'm built it doesn't fit, even the XXL. Too bad too as I could get a discount on it.

I got the khaki one to go w/my pith helmet (of course building an outfit around an accessory).  I picked up some camel pin wale cord to make a skirt to complete the outfit, having purchased a perfectly steamy cord jacket at Goodwill this weekend.

Question about Girl Genius....

I started to read this strip because of you guys but I can't find a way to sticky where I stopped reading nor can I find a calendar search feature. I keep having to start at the beginning back in 2002. Frustrating.

Just take note of where you stopped and scroll to the chapter next time you dive in.  The scroll is at the bottom.

In related news, I actually ran across a Girl Genius book at the library this weekend, haha.  It was hte opening story from teh website but it was still nice to re-read it in print.

I just create a new bookmark each time I stop reading, and it takes me right back to where I ended.  I delete the old bookmark before I close the browser so I don't get confused...

As Grov notes, there's a drop down menu under the comic - right now it says "Hold still. This'll be fun."  Click on it to scroll up to chapters & volumes.  You'll just need to note where you stopped reading & scroll up to that chapter the next time.

Well, unless you're like me, and save up three weeks of pages so you can sit and read for more than a couple of minutes...  LOL  Kinda makes me feel like I have a whole issue in my hands, instead of like I'm picking crumbs off the table!  It kills me to try to read it one page at a time, every other day...

I blame GG for my general sleep deprivation these days.  I know it's 11 pm, I know I've got to be up early, but at midnight a new strip will be up and I really must know if Agatha (Gil, Tarvek - well, him not so much) is going to be killed by a death ray (lightning, spikey klung ball, Hogfarb's Resplendent Immolation).  Just biding my time for the doom bell to be rung and the Jagers to finally come in with their particular brand of happy fun.

Oh!!!  I almost forgot!  Speaking of boots... I went and picked up mine this morning from the shoe repair shop where I had them stretched, and they FIT, finally!!!!!!!!!  I've had them for over 9 years, and I just now get around to having them stretched.  Talk about procrastination... 

They're beautiful, though, and so perfect for S/P that I couldn't have built a better pair!  Dark brown Italian leather 3/4 calf lace ups, with 6 eyelets and 8 hooks on each side, making them very similar to 14 hole Doc's, only in the most beautiful soft, supple leather you've every felt, with good solid rubber tread soles.  I'm wearing them now, and have been in full boot-gasm since this morning when I put them on!!!    LOL

Now to finish up the skirt... 

Oh!!!  One more really cool idea that cascaded after finding a piece of vintage jewelry at a yard sale... an S/P ear piece all done in Victorian Tech!  I'm thinking seriously about selling these though, so not gonna tease you all with descriptions.  LOL  You'll just have to wait and see if I show up with a few extra!
